In town dropping my son off to UNC-CH. I am a Corporate Travel Agent have been really enjoying Hyatt properties lately, however this property needs serious attention. When you walk through the lobby doors a sewage smell hits you on the face, I had to hold my breath each time I walked in and out of the lobby for our 3 day stay. The lobby furniture is dusty and chipped , the carpets throughout the hotel are torn, filthy and the same trash remained there for 3 days. I had to stop by the front desk to request either “light” or “full” housekeeping. I requested full. We were gone for about 12 hrs and came back to beds made but our pillows and personal blankets were thrown on the couch in a ball. My biggest complain was the nasty black mold in the shower and the broken shampoo dispenser that you could not get shampoo out of with the broken cap sitting right on top of it that housekeeping never bothered to replace. Overall I would give this place a 1 or 2 out of 10. I would never recommend this property to my clients and will never stay here again for the next 5-6 years my son will be in grad school in Chapel Hill. On a positive note, the burger place Al’s in Southern Village shopping center right next door is delicious! Awesome burgers, fries and shakes!
