Great value for Chapel Hill stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 May 2013
This is a great value for a family. With teenagers, we don't like to cram into a little motel room anymore, so instead of having to pay for two motel rooms, we rented one condo. It had plenty of space for everyone and it was nice to have the living room to hang out in. It was convenient for us, and very quiet. It's true, as another reviewer mentioned, that the furnishings weren't brand new, but that wasn't an issue for us at all. In fact, we all found the beds very comfortable and got a great night of sleep. And I'm someone who often finds hotel beds uncomfortable, so this was a big deal to me. The bathrooms were clean and completely adequate for us. I definitely plan to stay here again.

I stayed at the inn town condo, and I couldn't have been happier.THe location is great. I like being able to walk to places, and staying here,I could walk to anyplace in Downtown Chapel Hill. You could drive to anyplace downtown in less than 5 minutes if the weather was bad,or you preferred not to walk, but then you will need to find a place to park.
The unit was very clean and comfortable. It is nice having someplace where friends can visit with you while you are in town. Hotels are too cramped. I also enjoyed having the kitchen,so I didn't have to eat out all the time. I was very surprised by how close a couple of eating places were. You can literally walk around the corner, and get something to eat.
This is a great alternative to a hotel, and much more convenient if you want to be in town.

Stayed here for the first 2 nights of our trip to North Carolina to meet up with our daughter who is studying at UNC.
Came across this place after doing some research into accommodation in the area, and suited us as a family.Much better than having 2 rooms in a faceless motel somwhere
Property was well presented and just as described on the internet, good directions were given and we found the property without any any problem ( even after a 15 hour journey from the UK)
After contacting Eric the owner he came to see us the first morning to collect payment and to suggest 1 or 2 places worth visiting in Chapel hill, including a charming diner just through the trees which served fantastic breakfasts.
Other places we ate were Spankys on Franklin Street which is well worth trying and just a short walk from the apartment.

Would certainly recommend this place to others, great value for money, friendly helpful owner, and well situated for visiting Chapel Hill and the university

I hate to give a place a bad rating, but even with a kitchen, this place did not meet my fairly low expectations. The bedroom was tiny with barely enough space to squeeze by to the tiny and outdated bathroom and, while it was clean, the furnishings all had seen better days. It was walking distance to town and it might be an okay place to stay for several days if you wanted to cook in, but I was amazed at what $100 didn't buy me. It was in the less expensive side of town and you had to walk up a steep and busy street to get to town. Next time I would stay further away and take a bus if needed.

We are sorry that this guest was not happy with the size of the bedroom. It is admittedly small, but our units also have a washer/dryer and a full sized eat-in kitchen. Our two bedroom units are MUCH larger, and if space is important, we urge guests to stay in a 2 bedroom condo, which do not cost much more. Regarding the "hill", Chapel Hill is built on a big hill (nence the name), and one has to walk up a hill no matter where one stays. The only other two lodging facilities within walking distance of UNC are almost twice our price, so we still feel that we offer a fantastic bargain compared to other alternatives. We hope future guests will read the numerous good reviews that follow below.

We stayed at Chapel Hill Inn for a weekend football game trip. We were looking for a nice place that was a short distance to Franklin Street and the UNC campus. It was perfect. The accommodations were great and we were just a 10-15 minute walk to great restaurants. The townhome was such an excellent value for the amount of space you got. I'll definitely be booking another trip here next time I'm in the Chapel Hill area.

Room tip: The 2-level townhomes are great for a trip with multiple people. Sleeps 5 comfortably.

The Chapel Hill InnTown is extremely convenient to the heart of Chapel Hill and is extremely good value. I stayed three nights in October and was appalled at the prices for motel rooms and wanted a more comfortable long stay environement. I lived in Chapel Hill (ironically very close to the InnTown) and know how hard it is to find a good place that's affordable. The unit was spotlessly clean, had everything you could imagine for your comfort. The bedrooms were large, and bathrooms fully equipped. I saw not a single cockroach. The manager went out of his way to find us a unit for the days we needed. I will definitely stay there again.

Thank you very much for your kind review. We strive to provide comfortable and furnished apartment accomodations close to the UNC campus for those who don't want to stay in a cramped motel room. Thank you very much for choosing to stay at Chapel Hill InnTown, and maybe we'll see you again in the future.
