Only stayed one night as i was passing through town. Great that it is right off of the highway. Staff was very friendly. Room was fine, but seemed like it was old yet redone. Good size though. The elevator was a bit odd, i had to push the button for the second floor a million times before it worked. Sink area which is outside of the shower area was a bit small even for one person. The little coffee machine was nice, but wish they would have tea as an option. The hotel was really dark when i pulled up and felt that the parking lot wasn't lit well at night. There are restaurants right next door which is nice though downtown durham and ninth street are less than 10 minutes away for more choices. The location is what is nice about the hotel. Also, welcoming lobby when you walk in with fireplace.

Dear zoecatva,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I was happy to see you enjoyed the staff in our hotel, as providing excellent customer service is what we strive to do for all of our guests. I have taken note of the concerns you addressed regarding the elevator and the lighting and will be forwarding these to our maintenance department head.

Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you again should your travels bring you back to Durham in the future.

We stayed here for the birth of our first grandson happening at Duke University. We originally had planned to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn planning to book a week out for a scheduled c-sections. However, babies don't follow schedules and he decided to come 2 weeks early. When we went to book the Hilton the price went up considerably. So, we went with the Marriott. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The shuttle service to hospital was easy and convenient. The hospital is not walking distance but it's only 2 mins away by car. There is a Walgreen's across the street which made it easy to grab a few last minute things. The breakfast & coffee bar had great staff, also!!
A few negatives involved our room, we didn't complain or ask to be moved. We were rushed and tired and thankful to have a place to rest our heads. Beds & linens were clean. Bathroom seemed to be mopped with dirty mop wiped them up & moved on. There was a very minor water leak coming from corner of the wall in the bathroom opposite the toilet. We just kept a towel in that corner. We were only there 2 nights.
For a decent last minute price I would stay here again. Choices are limited in this area making prices higher for less quality.

Traveled to Duke for an orthopedic consult...excellent hotel with friendly staff and comfortable beds...10 minutes from the medical center...ADA rooms were well set up for anyone with accessibility needs...one suggestion, expand the number of handicap parking spots..

Stayed here for two nights, visiting family. The hotel is your basic Courtyard Marriott. We were on the 3rd Floor in Room 353. 1 King bed with a sofa bed. The room overlooked the outdoor pool. Room was located near the end of the hall however there is a Elevator at each end of the hotel. Hotel was really clean and we slept great each night. Free WiFi, and the bistro to get something to eat.

Would defiantly stay here again.
