Note that this establishment is 7 miles off I-95. It's very close to Fort Bragg.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. (But be careful crossing the highway...busy intersection.)

Staff is friendly.

This is no frills. No pool, no free breakfast, no coffee station in the room. There's one
microwave in the stairwell.

Shower works well, as does the large TV on the wall. Plenty of stations to choose from.

Internet is fine, although not password protected.

Don't be surprised if you see an envelope asking for donations to the cleaning staff.

4 solids stars, because you get exactly what you pay for. Works for me!

We travel from Florida to Central Atlantic regularly and break the trip up into stops. We found the Mt. Rose Hotel in Fayetteville, NC through an online hotel search application. This Hotel, as we found out, was renovated 17 months ago. We we got into our room, it looked like we were the first customers here... it smelled so fresh.. was so so VERY clean and was very nicely appointed. The staff must have attended customer service training ... they were so pleasant and accommodating. We travel very frequently, and when stopping in Fayetteville, you can be sure this will.be our first choice. Oh.. by the way the rates are like a "two star".. but the quality is EASILY "three star."

We stopped to get some rest on our way to Georgia/Florida. This hotel was recently updated. Check-in was quick and easy. The lobby is a bit small and was cluttered with a few boxes. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. They are very skimpy on the shampoo and lotion which wasn't an issue for use because we always bring our own. The only suggestion I have would be to request a bottom floor if you have luggage or can't climb steps. There's no elevator. I would recommend if you just need a place to stop and rest during a road trip.

Room tip: Bottom Floor

My family and I needed a hotel to basically sleep at. (Be aware that when taking the turn off the highway at night you may think you are going the wrong way as it is so dark and seems like you are driving into no where...but within 3 minutes you’ll see lights to a town where the hotel is located).

We arrived at 10:30pm and left at 9:00am. Having worked for a 5 star hotel chain in the past, my standards are quite high for hotels in general. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem in the Mt Rose hotel.

Upon check in the front desk agent, (son of the owner) was so friendly and kind...considering it was 10:30 at night. The hallways to the rooms were bright and the carpet almost sparkled...that’s how clean it looked. The room was spacious and clean.

The customer service fantastic. Upon speaking with the front desk agent in the morning, I discovered this hotel is owned by a family who lives next door. This is their livelihood and they worked in hotels in the past, so their standards are also high. During our conversation a guest dropped her key to check out and the owner asked her how ‘the conversation was last night’. I was impressed with the personalized service. These owners work hard and although this is not a chain hotel, please don’t overlook the Mt Rose...you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed here last minute while working in town and were so glad we did. Amit at the front desk was extremely helpful and the entire place looked freshly renovated. Our room was super clean, great stay all around!
