newly renovated king room was very comfortable only stayed one night. all staff was very helpful. the pool area was open but heater not working they are in the process of renovating the hotel. we had a renovated room it was nicely done.More
Hilton Garden Inn
A local college is using this motel for their dorm rooms and the motel is under renovations, It is VERY loud. Was awakened all night from loud music, people yelling, doors slamming. The only plus was afternoon desk clerk and breakfast person were super friendly.

No one tried to help us or had any suggestions. Rude woman at the desk. Pretty much on our own. Room was good. Floors were sticky in elevator. Very nice people at breakfast. Used a lyft in the area. Everything was pretty good in general. Manners needed.
Only stayed 1 night, a quick stop off to sleep so didn't spend too much time there, but no complaints.
Good size room although a little loud from the AC/outside road.
Pool didn't look great but we didn't use it.
Breakfast was good, quick and easy, plenty of options.
We had takeaway dinner from Showmars, 1 minute walk away and also took a trip to Crowders Mountain, 10 minutes drive away.
Last minute getaway. Decided to travel to visit parents and Surprise them for the weekend. Tucked right off the interstate we found this hotel located right off 85 south and 321. Check-in was a breeze and so friendly. Room was recently renovated and I have to say they are truly beautiful. I am so in love with the bathroom light and the counter top that I have emailed the GM to find out where I can purchase them for my home. As a frequent traveler I will give this property a SOLID 5 stars, clean and fresh smelling room, Bright lighted bathroom and OVER THE TOP Hospitality from the Staff. Kudos to the Management team and the Staff !! Making this a future stop for sure on my travels to visit parents.
On my recent trip to pt Canaveral to take a cruise, I yesterday wrote about a Holiday Inn that was quiet. Today it is the opposite. The Holiday Inn Express in Gastonia North Carolina is perhaps the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in. If you are not a sound sleeper, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I was given room 403 and found the traffic noise from I-85 was unbearable. They graciously changed me to room 426 which was fine until I retired for the night. Sirens, traffic noise from the street, trucks backing up with their warning beeps, continued pretty much throughout the night. On top of that, the walls are thin, lots of conversation from the room next door. To make matters worse, some idiot had set the clock radio to go off at midnight. I will not be back.
