Pro: (1) the hotel is located conveniently to the Charlotte airport; (2) the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Con: (1) the carpets throughout were worn and stained, obviously in need of replacement; (2) one of the three rooms we reserved had not had the sheets changed from the previous guests, and there were bugs in the bed.

I'm a Choice Privileges member, so I've stayed at a variety of Choice hotels all across the country. This one was probably in the saddest shape of any I've stayed in. There are 3-4 other hotels in this immediate area that might be better choices.

Went to the famous McAddenville city of lights, on Monday. Checked in, desk agent was friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate, TV, heating/cooling, microwave, and fridge all were clean and worked fine. The bathroom was super clean. They had a work desk with a plug-in on the table and a good office chair. Came back that night, and to our surprise, they had a bit of home: free: beefaroni, white large slices of bread, beer, water, ice tea. (they do this only in the middle of the week when business is slow. ) The breakfast was super, hot eggs and sausage, or biscuits and sausage gravy, cinnamon waffles (you cook yourself), apples, oranges, yogurt, cereals, bagels, sweet rolls, and of course good coffee. I definitely will come back when I am in the area.

Room tip: I am not sure of all the bad reviews, but in my 50 years of travelling, this one is a winner!

This is one of the worst Choice properties I've stayed at in the 14 years I have been staying with them. First, upon checking into the hotel, they inform me that they will be charging me a $30.00 fee in case I smoke in the room. Mind you I have never gotten a smoking room anywhere in my life, and if I was to smoke it would be outside. This by the way is not mentioned anywhere on the app or on my reservation. Also the desk clerk copped an attitude with me, and was not apologetic. Next there is no place to put your suitcase in the room. No bag stand or permanent place anywhere in the room. The hotel grounds were dirty, as well as the common areas inside the hotel. This place is disgusting.

Room tip: Stay at the Hampton or Fairfield vs this place.

Stayed one night en route to pick up the kids from camp near Charlotte. As we checked in, police were in the lobby, called in apparently to help evict a guest that had been caught smoking. A group of drunk guests stumbled in .. convinced the manager to open the back patio to continue their party noisily till midnight. In the room, one of the smoke detectors had been dismantled .. and we found an empty pack of cigarettes behind the fridge. WiFi wasn’t working .. calling the Philippines-based tech support was a 30 minute exercise in futility. Wouldn’t come back if my life depended on it.

Room tip: Stay away from this hotel and avoid the area entirely if possible.

We stayed Tuesday night thru Saturday night and wouldn’t come back. The price we paid wasn’t bad but I’d rather pay more for a better hotel. You can tell the hotel is old and in need of repairs. We only got maid service 1 time the whole time and than on the last day they tell us we have to request it because they have too many check outs to clean our room if we stay for multiple nights. You would think since we paid to stay here for 5 nights that they would at least come give new towels and take out the trash because the only leave you with 2 tiny trash cans. Dogs barking throughout the night, rooms with a bunch of people in it that you can hear all the way down the hallway, and 1 elevator wasn’t working.
