We tried to go to another restaurant but they were packed, so we thought we would try breakwater. It’s been a long time since we have been there but heard lots of good things, well at least Facebook told me so. Not sure what the hype is about or maybe I chose poorly on the menu but the food was mediocre. And I don’t know if it was because it was 8:30 and the servers were tired but they didn’t make much effort. The hostess was however super nice. We did the shrimp stir fry and it was more like soup covered in a broth of soy sauce. We also had oysters Rockefeller, again coated in a thick sauce. Maybe just fried seafood is the way to go,

My family visited Breakwater while on vacation. The restaurant has excellent views of The Sound.**Suggestion: bring our sunglasses. We arrived shortly after 5pm and got right in. Our waitress was great and answered my questions about must see and must eat in the area.

We enjoyed the Fish Bites and Dock Chips for an appetizer and they were good. My Brother In Law was looking forward to having the Oysters but they were sadly already sold out. My Husband had the Tilefish Special and said it was really good. I ordered the Ribeye, it was cooked to perfection, seasoned well, juicy, had a nice crust, and the list goes on!... It was the best Steak I've ever had!! And a nice bonus was the Lemon Cream Cake for dessert.

Extremely rude attitude from the hostess/manager (Taylor) who never acknowledged the ONLY customers in the lobby and walked past us at least twice before we had to speak up to get her attention. Does not seem like the kind of restaurant that is interested in it’s guests.

Drinks were really good. Waitress was very friendly. Views are spectacular hope we can go back again some time in the future

It gets crowded here very early. The outside view is very beautiful and the food is great. I tried the expresso margarita and it had a hidden kick afterwards!
