We stayed in the Stardance cabin. It overlooked the a stream that flowed out of the mountain. The porch swing was great for relaxing, looking and listening to it. We ate several meals on the porch at the table enjoying the brook and the sounds of nature all around us. The Hot Tub was awesome to sit in after hiking trips to Max Patch and several Waterfalls. The water in the Hot Tub, and the shower as well, was natural mineral water and you could tell the difference after getting out. No need to spend the extra money at Hot Springs for their tubs! The cabin itself was big enough to enjoy each other, but not too big. The kitchen had all we needed for preparing the meals we did eat there. There was a book in the cabin of things to do around the area that was very helpful. We took 2 adventures in the book that we had no planned on; Max Patch (WELL WORTH THE TRIP) and we went to Chataloochee to see the Elk. (go here in the morning to see the Elk). Dancing Sun is definitely off the beaten path. Another fun part is the ride to Dancing Sun (either way) It is a beautiful WINDING road through the mountain. We even made it to Gatlinburg for the day with no trouble, (1.5 hour drive) We look forward to renting again for another get away. Could use a new mattress on the bed....

When we were looking for a great mountain getaway for about a week in July, the Dancing Sun Cabins-Moondance Cabin was music to our ears - and it met and exceeded all expectations. Peaceful and private, surrounded by beauty, we especially enjoyed the amenities like hot tub and fire pit; although having a washer/dryer after hiking/tubing/white-watering can't be underestimated. Tom and Rebecca's care for the place and visitors is obvious and welcomed, we left feeling relaxed and re-energized in body and spirit.

My wife and I stayed in these cabins for 4 days, June 18-21. We stayed in the "Moondance" cabin. It was well equipped for us. The cabin is comfortably sized for a couple. The queen-sized bed sleeps very well. The kitchen is sized adequately. Rocking chairs on the front porch will allow you to relax and watch the creek in your front yard. The Hot Tub is perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. Nearby trails on the property can take you to the quiet woods, and all the way to Max Patch on the Appalachian Trail if you want. The cabin is equipped with WiFi and satellite-TV and DVD player; both work well. There is lots of privacy for romance. The cabins are very remote, so be certain to bring your supplies with you. GPS worked well for us, but be certain to bring printed maps as a back up.

Check-In and rental arrangements are very easy. Tom and Rebecca are great hosts. The cabin rental rates are very reasonable in my opinion.

I recommend these cabins to anyone vacationing in this area.

This cabin was an absolutely magical spot that we never wanted to leave! My husband and I came to stay at the Moondance cabin for our honeymoon on Memorial Day weekend and it was the best vacation we've ever taken. Come prepared with food, wine and toiletries, because it's about a half hour drive to "civilization". Aside from that, the cabin had everything we needed and more! You will feel completely off the grid, yet spoiled at the same time. We were amazed at how much there was to do both on the property and locally, and you could choose to do all of it - or not- and still enjoy your stay. This is a place where you can feel the stress just melt off of you in a serene yet invigorating environment. The attention to detail and care that the owners put into their property is evident. They obviously love this location and are in the mountain business for more than just profit. They want others to savor and experience all that the area has to offer, and they provide a tidy cabin full of amenities, with detailed hiking maps, local restaurant recommendations and tips on how to have the perfect stay. You will feel totally immersed in nature and never want to come back to "civilization"!

Room Tip: Bring food and wine! And then forget the outside world :)

Everything about the cabin, the property, and the owners was just wonderful. The Sundance cabin was so comfortable and peaceful, we really enjoyed our time together. Grilling and enjoying a glass of wine in the hot tub under the stars was so a great way to enjoy the surroundings. We will be back! -Hike to the waterfall. It'll take your breath away.

Room Tip: Get the Sundance cabin. Very private.
