Even though we live in Burlington, NC now we are from Dallas, Texas. We arrived at the Manor on our 26th wedding anniversary and was very pleased to be greeted at the door and shown around the Manor and then our beautiful room #3 which we found out later was Mr. and Mrs. Sobotta's Master bedroom which made our stay even more special. I had ordered the Romance Package which I highly recommend. There were a dozen of beautiful red roses awaiting my wife in the room along with large fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate, fresh grapes, fresh cheese and crackers and a bottle of excellent cider. We were given a $50 gift card to eat out that night and were allowed to choose which vineyard we wanted to eat and we choose the Harvest grill which Pam suggested and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sobotta Manor and want have a romantic dinner. We woke up the next morning and went down stair to enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee for me and tea for my sweet wife and meet several other very friendly guests and then we all sat down at a beautiful table setting and ate a fantastic breakfast with the other guests. The Manor, the owners and all the people were so very nice and made us fill at home. We plan to visit again next year for sure and possible some time in between. ***** service and rooms that I highly recommend. Mark and Judy

Room Tip: back rooms look over the beautiful gardens. All rooms are large with own bathrooms

Wonderful prompt service. Beautiful accommodations! Friendly service! Good food! Need I say more. The hostess was awesome and everything was clean. We were located next to a lot of attractions and within driving distance of other opportunities.

Our stay was more than a place to stop and rest for the night. It was an enriching experience enhanced by historical and tastefully elegant ambiance. Every moment we spent In our beautiful room and comfortable bed, in the gardens, and in conversation at the table was pure pleasure.

Loved everything about Sobotta Manor Bed & Breakfast. Beautiful home, lovely furnishings, and delicious breakfasts! The owner, J.R. and his sister, Pam, were our hosts for two nights and they could not have been more helpful with directions and recommendations for what to see and do in the area. I would definitely recommend the Sobotta Manor.

We are at the tail-end of a three week road trip and pulled into Mt. Airy without any reservations. Luckily, they had one room left so we took it. Met Pam and JR (didn't get to meet JR's wife) and they are extremely welcoming and relaxed people who take great pride in their inn. The house is very well decorated and breakfast was very well planned. This is just down the road to the Main Street of Mt. Airy, which was the prototype for Mayberry on the Andy Griffith Show. We didn't get a chance to really see the town sights but this is definitely a place we would recommend if you are in the area. I would recommend getting a room on the second floor if possible as we were on the first floor and you will hear people walking above you and going up and down the house stairs. The room 1 could also benefit from some drapes/curtains over the blinds simply due to the light from the street. Otherwise, fantastic! Very hospitable and warm (in a good way).
