My wife and I had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and had a very nostalgic feel with old volume knob for in room music, central vac ports, and the old signage on the doors. It was a great throwback to the old motels/motor lodges!
The owners were friendly and helpful.
One of the most memorable places we have stayed in a long time and the rates were good too!

how often do you stay at an establishment and become fast friends with the owner!? eric, the proprietor of the Williams motel is a down to earth, interesting, dignified and proud descendant of a confederate general. he'll proudly show you his letter from the sons of the confederacy. this guy is a gem and musically astute and he runs one clean ship!!! you definitely can not go wrong staying here. if by chance you should ever become bored in these beautiful surroundings, just look up eric and he'll entertain you for hours with tales of his famous ancestor, the famous musical and nascar people that have stayed at his place, and even a mention of a presidential experience the motel enjoyed. whenever i'm in this area, this is where i'll stay. a tip to the traveler, book ahead if possible as this great little motel fills up quickly whenever there is an event in the area. for example 'merlefest' is a festival that draws people from all over the world and the Williams motel is the first hotel in Wilkesboro to hit full occupancy. the people at this place are awesome!! and the small establishment has an outdoor pool.

Room Tip: all rooms are similar in location and access.

This was just a layover on my way to Asheville the next day. Super friendly folks, especially Eric as he was the owner that I spent time with. I was meeting a friend in N Wilkesboro and they happened to be acquainted with each other. The room was thoroughly clean and the rate very reasonable. I am hoping to head back for three days in May, 2015.

It's 30 minutes from Boone. No frills but has Cable and swimming pool, I was very impressed with the cleanliness. The owners were very nice. Rates are 36.00 and up. I think we paid about 41.00 including tax. It kind of reminds me of Andy Griffith days :)
