This has been a local favorite of ours for many years. We have been there for many celebrations (Valentine's Day, anniversaries, birthdays) and just for a meal out. Irregardless has never disappointed. Love the fact that Arthur, the owner, still makes his way around the dining room greeting his customers. Great food, great wine, great service, great vibe. Love the place.

This restaurant has an excellent reputation and they work hard to maintain a high level both with food and service. Have special cocktails that appeal to customers desiring something different but at the same time remembering that you want an alcohol drink not a glass of non-alcoholic liquid. Many food offerings appeal to vegetarian diners but there are plenty of offerings for seafood and meat. Homemade tortes for dessert are always good and especially on weekends entertainment provides a great background to your fine dining experience. Parking can be a little problem but worth the necessary effort for an enjoyable evening.

If you want a packed, noisy, restaurant with average food ,this is the place to go. We arrived about 30 early for our reserved table for 2. We were told to come back in 20 minutes and a table would be ready. We came back and waited another 25 minutes before we got our table. Many groups of 4 skipped in front of us probably because the restaurant was set up with so many foursomes i.e. booths that accompanied 4 people. The first thing I noticed was the sheer density of the customers crammed into this one room. No space no matter how small was unused. Tables were so close that I could easily hear the next tables conversation. That is only if you could hear it over the very loud ambient noise. I felt like I was in a cafeteria !As for the food. My girlfriend had the chicken special which was essentially cordon bleu. It was tasty and tender. My dish was the duck. Unfortunately ,it was served over a bed of seasoned lentils that completely overwhelmed the duck. The by the glass wine list was unimpressive, having only 2 choices for a Chardonnay. On another note, I felt sorry for the hostess who seemed to be frantic trying to handle the crowds. We have gone to many other restaurants in the Raleigh area that have much better food and ambiance.

We looked for a place for some light food and a drink, maybe some live music. Music was there and fair. Food was fair. Wine was good, and the bartender took good care of us.
What we observed next was appalling. Twice, the general manager “D.”, ranted and chewed out the wait staff, within earshot. When we asked to speak with him, he had no nicer words for us and walked off. We totally understand that leading people sometimes requires conversation, and sometimes direct words. But not in front of customers.
And “D.” may be in the wrong line of work. For the restaurant’s sake, I hope they understand his limitations.
