This is the second time I have eaten here and was not disappointed. The food is wonderfully flavorful. Not your typical beans and rice. They have a good choice of tequilas and mescals. They wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Great atmosphere and they served the best Enchiladas that I can remember. Looking forward to visiting next time I'm in town.

We had dinner at Centro last Thursday evening, the last meal of our visit to Raleigh. We always approach Mexican food with an ounce of apprehension because we've lived in SoCal and NM, and we know good, authentic Mexican food and how it's supposed to taste. We expected a good meal...we got an amazingly good meal.

The salsa we were served with our chips was reminiscent of that served in Santa Fe favorite El Parasol. It is the kind of salsa that has the right texture, the right flavor, the right amount of kick to it. We ordered an appetizer called Ignacios and it was wonderful; as the name indicates, it's a higher-end take on nachos, and it's absolutely worth it.

My husband is an enchilada fan. These didn't disappoint. The presentation was great, and each sauce was fantastic. The tacos we ordered (Los Carlos...the meat was oh, so tender!, and carnitas...so flavorful!) were generously filled without being difficult to handle as you ate them. The cilantro rice and the refries were very good, and didn't overwhelm the plate, and didn't drown out the flavor of the meat portion of each dish.

If you want coffee, they will make some for you...they will French press some for you. It is fragrant, delicious, and the fact that they take the time to do this makes the dining experience even better.

Our drinks were awesome: the margaritas were excellent, and they were not overpowering. They are complements to your meal, not something to distract you from what you're about to consume. I recommend the Antiguo.

As for desserts: we tried (because we couldn't make up our minds as to one we could split while being judicious about our dessert consumption) the Tres Leches, the chocolate flan, and the Capirotada. Tres Leches can be too sweet if done wrong, and the combination of milk products can turn it into an unpleasantly gooey mess, but this Tres Leches was done just right. The cake itself had good texture and body, and the sauce gave it just the right amount of "give" to make it delicious. It was not overpoweringly sweet, and that is a great thing when you're having Tres Leches. You don't want to walk away from that feeling like you need a gallon of water to get over the sweetness. The chocolate flan has wonderful texture...it is silky, and the chocolate is obviously good quality. This is not milk chocolate; this is the sort of chocolate that you savor with a good glass of wine. Just sweet enough to be dessert, but not so sweet that you ask yourself if it's intended for kids. And the Capirotada...great flavor, great texture, and topped with delicious ice cream.

We are moving to Raleigh soon. We hope to become regulars at Centro. The staff is lovely; they are attentive, upbeat, knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time even though the restaurant was pretty busy and it's easy to get lost when a restaurant is full and has a high-energy atmosphere. We didn't feel that way; we felt like they were interested in giving us a good dining experience, and they did.

Kudos, and we hope they are always busy, and that their business thrives for a long, long time. We also hope we can get a table here and there so we can go back to repeat the wonderful experience we had the other night!

First visit to this nice eatery near my daughter's work. Fun decor and atmosphere with great music. I recommend the spicy margarita, as well as the mole poblano. My wife said her chile sureno was one of the best dishes she has had in quite awhile. Both the tacos carnitas and the frijolada were also raved about. EXCELLENT service from Kieran.

This is an atypical Mexican Restaurant. If you want the run of the mill fare, there are other choices. The Mole Poblano is to die for as is the Tortas De Papa y Calabaza. These are two takes on the same idea with completely different flavors. The latter is vegetarian as well. Save room for the Chile Brownies. Even though the place was bustling when we arrived, slowed a bit and then picked up again, the service was excellent!!
