7 of us made the trip to feed the dolphins. What a lovely group of volunteers you have there. Friendly, informative and welcoming. We were lucky that 5 dolphins came in that morning and as there were not too many people we got to feed them 2 fish each. We were not rushed at all and the lovely volunteer was only to happy to answer the questions we had. So happy we made the choice to go to Tin Can Bay and have the opportunity to feed the wild dolphins and actually learn about them and their history. If you have small kids this is an EXCELLANT cheap $10 experience to do. It’s so worth it! 5 stars ***** ps: just read a 2star review and that person must be one of those that fault everything all the time. Some people just like complaining!

Got up early and were in a line up with 20 ppl already in front of us at 6.20 am(sunday) we had 5 of us who wanted to feed the dolphins. Tip take cash, if you have to use eftpos you easily lose your spot in the queue. They were trying to keep the first groups and others seperate to keep it fair but you could see ppl queue jumping.. seeing the dolphins and feeding them is such a unique experience and it was so quick. We had finished the experience by 7.45 and where on our way. People where still arriving I am unsure if they got in. We started with 2 dolphins and then 2 more showed up. So more people got let in.. thats when things get hectic... I think if the used different coloured tickets for each group it would run smothering be fairer to those that

Got up and was standing in line by 6:40am to be close to the front of the line for feeding. Opened up at 7am, as stated, (the wait was not a problem). We were 3rd from front, with a couple and young child in-front of us. Paid $10 pp and had hands sanitised and a token for feeding then ushered to sit down on a bench. Endured around an hour of a talk, plus half way through they swapped volunteers and the second couple of volunteers repeated the same blurb as the ones before - pointless. Then you listen to a voice recording telling you the same information again? Everyone tuned out after 15 mins. They then line you up to feed the dolphins, everyone who is on the benches (the ones in the front of the original line) get shoved to the back of the feeding line?? The couple and child who were in front of us ended up 3 spaces behind us, right at the back of the que. They then spray your hands with another disinfection as they aren’t sure what the original anti-bacterial spray they put on your hands does to the dolphins? Why don’t they just spray your hands with the second disinfectant and sack off the first one?? You then swap your token for a post it note to give to a woman 2 feet away? Waste of paper and so pointless. Spend less than 2 minutes feeding the dolphins while the volunteer tells you the same info you’ve already hear 3 times before. They ask you to keep social distancing the whole time, then you are required to clamber past people to get in and out of the water??

We were lucky enough to see 4 adult dolphins and a baby. But the excitement of the dolphins was kind of overshadowed by the irritation and frustration felt by the lack of organisation.

The volunteers were talking over and interrupting each other. Considering they do this everyday it was so badly managed, no one knew what they were doing or when. Honestly couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. With a small amount of thought into what they are doing, the experience would be increased tenfold. With all that being said, that the male volunteer at the beginning handing out tickets was really merry and friendly.

Wouldn’t recommend making a special trip for it.

*Tip* If visiting on a weekday out of school holidays when it is quieter, arrive around 8am, and miss the blurb at the beginning, skip the ques and still get to feed the dolphins!

What an experience to feed a wild dolphin. Great Family activity and the volunteers are so friendly and provide lots of information about the dolphins and history.

Arrived to see/feed dolphins at 6.15am. Standing in hot sun for an hour to be told another 3/4 hour to go. Pay 10.00 then get seated to be given a talk + token to feed the dolphins. 2 ppl allowed in area , given a fish.

I vacated the area as the wait too long. Also not enough communication about what was to happen.
A suggestion:
Ask ppl to sit down, order coffee, given out tokens, then usher ppl in.
I feel for the elderly who would have had to stand for that period of time.
Rethink your set up pls.
