We had a really enjoyable time staying at Ajax, the 3 course dinners were fantastic after an exhausting day of skiing. Nestled in the trees and in walking distance from the village it was the perfect location. Our children are asking us when we can go back there again! Even though the place is a little bit old, it is well kept and neat. The beds were really comfortable. The bathroom sink was pretty small, but we managed.

Room tip: Rooms down the end of the hall so you don't have guests walking past your room.

Ajax Ski Lodge at Mt Buller Victoria is a wonderful place to stay and feel as though you are totally at home. The lodge is beautifully appointed with delightfully stylish lounging areas, friendly dining and great staff. There's terrific drying areas, games and sauna area, laundry facilities, comfy spacious beds and plenty of books and games to keep you amused if the snow isn't too good, we however were really just so fortunate with bluebird days, fantastic skiing beneath sun filled blue skies. Breakfast and dinner were included in the tariff and all meals were superb. If you are looking for wonderful on snow accommodation, within easy walking distance to the main village you won't find better and at a really pleasing price. Very highly recommended. Thanks Ajax Ski Lodge for a wonderful family holiday.

Room tip: They only have good rooms and are fully equipped for disabled travelers if you need that type of accommodation.

First of all we would like to thank you for everyone at Ajax their hospitality! Nothing was a problem! My younger son had his bday their and they created a dessert for him with marshmallows, snakes and sparkles. He loved it and everyone sing Happy Birthday which made it even more special! At the end he even got a bag of lollies from Michele. Thank you for making it so special for him!
Location. About 10 minutes walk from the central but there is a bus about 5 meters from the door to the free shuttle bus that can take you to anywhere within the village.Ajax is a 3 star property so do not expect flat screen TV and minibar in your room. In regards the rooms you get what you pay for so be fair when criticizing it! The rooms are very basic - bed, towels, soap, ensuite bathroom. Rooms are well heated, all have windows you can open to get the fresh air in ( ours looked out to some rooftops but also to some mountains ). There is a drying room for your clothes, another one for your skies. There are three lounge areas ( one up in the mezzanine, one in front of a fireplace ) and another one. Also there is a TV room with a huge Samsung TV. There is a downstairs game-room and from that room opens another room to an infrared sauna ( free of charge ). Games room need an update. Billiard table was in excellent condition ( charge is AUD2.00 / game ) but the table tennis is in a sad condition. We still used it and had no problem with it but would be nice to get it fixed a bit.
Ajax provide breakfast and dinner with their stay and OMG! Their food is 5 star! The breakfast breakfast and dinner included in their room rates. Breakfast includes about 5 types of cereals, fruit, yogurt, eggs, toast, croissant etc so more then enough for a nice breakfast. Dinner is always a three course dinner ( except Friday smorgasbord ). There is a soup, a main and a dessert and wow the food! It is tasty, healthy ( just so it tastes good as well )! Fantastic! We loved everything ( even our two young kids loved all the food they were given). We stayed for 3 nights but the variety of food was great! You can purchase drinks at Ajax or BYO anything you like and keep in their fridge.
Overall we loved our stay there! The price is reasonable taking into consideration that it is Mt Buller and that you have your breakfast and dinner taken care of. It is nice to be able to just sit down and eat something great after all day in the slopes and not to worry about cooking!
Mt Buller in general was great! Lots of area for the ones who just staring out but enough for the more serious skiers. We had a great time and we found the hire and shop staff very nice and helpful! It think as long as you prepare yourself reasonably for your expectation re costs and facilities you will love it!

Ajax is a great friendly easy going lodge. Breakfast & gourmet dinner is included. All you have to do is get up eat & ski!! Michelle & the team are fantastic. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around & quite areas for the adults to get away. The free ski shuttle stops outside the front door, so there is no need to carry your gear around the mountain. If you are looking for easy, all included ski accommodation at Mt Buller, AJAX is a must!!
