We got the tail end of some stormy weather and were not allowed to swim in the ocean. We decided to check out the bayside and wound up here. The water was calm and shallow. Your kids can go out in the water without much worry. It was a beautiful, relaxing day!

Clean, family-oriented beach. Great place to relax. Be prepared for a short walk over the dunes that get to the beach but once you get there, it’s worth it!

Plenty of places to stay but roomy beaches for everyone to spread out. Short walks over the dunes to get down to the beaches aren't bad.

Perfect soundside beach experience. Kids loved playing in the water without having to battle the waves. Beach itself is still fairly undiscovered, so lots of space for distancing.

The ocean side had strong waves and riptides so we went to the Sound side and discovered Salvo Beach. The parking is ample, the bathrooms and changing rooms are conveniently located and kept very clean. The water is shallow and calm so it makes it ideal for young children. The beach was not overly crowded. We had plenty of room for four chairs and a cooler. We would recommend this beach!!
