We've visited the Pine Needle resort & golf course for the PKB (Peggy Kirk Bell) junior golf tournament during the December holiday season. The golf course was fabulous, a typical Donald Ross gem. We've stayed at the resort knowing that the property is historical & dated. Unfortunately the property was much worse than expected - the room key didn't work despite making 5 consecutive trips to the front desk (missed church service as a result), roof leaked & water dripped into the room when raining, insufficient room lighting (hard to read a book or paper), many trip hazards on side walk due to the uneven pavement, the food at the restaurant was below average and over-priced. The front desk staff didn't seem to care nor offer any remedies when complained about the issues. I've heard similar complaints from the parents whose daughters were playing in the PKB golf tournament. It's shame, we really wanted to like this charming place & experience the legacy left by Peggy Kirk.... We recommend to play the golf course but avoid staying at the resort.More
