Owner description: The legendary baseball player and Fargo's hometown hero is honored with a 72-foot long glassed-in exhibit at the West Acres Shopping Mall, tracing all aspects of his career, including major awards, uniforms and some of the home run balls from 1961, the year he broke Babe Ruth's record with 61 home runs.

No Charge! As my man is a life-long NYY fan, we actually went there to see the Roger Maris (born in Fargo) museum. Enter at the small entrance next to the bus stop with a large M on the door. It consists of a well-maintained store-front window display of precious memorabilia, crowned with a row of 61 banners with dates (if a fan of the man, you understand). A small theater room holds posters, pictures and a few original NYY Stadium seats to use while viewing a documentary film. Only one thing I would suggest: I wanted a picture that included the row of banners and the oval-hanging sign - the spot lights on the sign prevent a picture without light reflection washing out the sign from every angle.
West Acres Shopping Center: about a mile away. Huge major stores and lots of mani-pedi walk-in spots. We were there for another reason.

If you're at the mall, this is definitely worth checking out. He is a hometown hero and a star of the MLB.

We visited this very unique small museum in Fargo where Roger Maris lived and began his special baseball career.
It is located in the West Acres Regional Shopping Center in Fargo; signs point the way to the location, or you may ask where it is at the information desk.
It is not a traditional museum but a display of baseball paraphernalia and awards in the windows along the hallway in the mall. Maris wanted the museum to be accessible to all with no charge. There is no gift shop or attendant there, but you can sit down in actual New York Yankees stadium seats and watch a looped video on the history of Maris.
It is a worthwhile visit especially for baseball fans.

This was a very nice little museum in the mall. It was free. A nice tribute to the true homerun king. Lots of memorabilia and video footage. A nice thing to check out.
