We stayed here with a group. Beds varied from very soft to as hard as the floor. Wall paper is extremely dated and coming off on its own. The fridges are bar size and there is no oven - just a two burner outlet. We found the rooms we were given to be very small and exceptionally dark - very few of the lamps worked and those that did had dark shades.

Our friends tried to use the hot-tub but the chlorine level was too high and burned their eyes while the temperature was tepid. The PLUS sides include: it is an amazing location, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and the parking underground is very easy.

Room Tip: the loft rooms are small but good with children because they can be put to bed upstairs. There actually is quite a variety of room sizes

We are constantly upgrading rooms one by one. It appears that you stayed in a room that hasn't been upgraded. Our standard rooms are app. 400 sq.ft. and we are sorry if that was to small for you. You have the option to upgrade to family suites or loft units. And yes, they get dark at night fall. I remember Sun Peaks had a village wide power outage and that effected temporarily the automated chlorination. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We shared a family suite which is two connected rooms one with a small kitchen. They were large and suited our purpose. The hotel appears to be some sort of a time share with a front desk that is not really manned. They have limited underground parking which at $18.00 per night is quite expensive. Unless you really need the convenience, you can park for free about 200 meters away in the outdoor day lot

Room Tip: rooms not facing the walking street are quieter.

We stayed in a suite over New Year. The room was a great size with plenty of hanging space for ski wear etc. Kitchen had all utensils required with a microwave and fridge which was really useful travelling with small kids.
Can't say we noticed that the beds were hard. The decor was dated but the rooms are clean & functional & reasonably priced. The location is brilliant for shopping, restaurants and the ski lifts.
Free wifi was provided and parking was available at a cost either on street or in the garage.

Room Tip: Room 201 looks over main village road 202 over the village street

My fiancé and I stayed here for just one night. Check in was quick and easy. The room was very clean. We stayed in a loft suite. It is a little out dated but we didn't mind. The kitchen was fully stocked which is awesome for people who are staying up there for a while. The reason I gave it the rating I did was because the beds were rock hard and so we're the pillows. My fiancé woke up due to his back being so sore from them. I even woke up so sore from the bed. So just a warning be ready for a hard hard mattress.

Thank you for giving us a chance to clarify our choice of mattresses. We cater a lot to national ski teams and race teams. These teams require firm mattresses. According to them it is better for their sleep, physiology and fitness. For the general public we have foamies available which fit on top of the mattress and make them softer.

The guest service was rude upon arrival, no one was at the desk and we had to phone them to get a hold of them, every time we came to the front desk no one was there and we had to contact them via phone, which usually took at least a minute of ringing to which we could hear the phone ringing in the office five feet away.

We called down about a stained sheet and they told us they could not get us a new comforter until the next day, we were only staying for one more night and that would have been of no use to us. They told us they could bring us a substitute blanket, when they did bring us a blanket, the employee was rude and acted inconvenienced that we had requested a new blanket.

One can easily discern that the building and all the rooms have not been updated since the building was erected two decades ago, this is easily proven by the advertisement of an event that took place in the summer of 1997 in the bathroom.

If you expect to have a solid internet connection do not expect it to come from them as their wifi disconnects frequently and cannot support basic usage.

Overall, we were absolutely displeased with everything the inn had to offer. They advertised a restaurant that never opened. Not to come off as snobby, but we have stayed in countless hotels and have never had an experience as bad as this.

On the bright side, the village and slopes are great and would absolutely recommend visiting Sun Peaks, just not staying here.

Thank you for giving us the chance to respond. There is a large sign at the front desk: "For Service pick up the phone". A 1 minute response time during the busiest time of the Year (Christmas/New Year) is deemed to be an acceptable industry standard. In regard to the stained comforter (duvet) housekeeping determined it was a make up stain that wasn't there when they made the bed, I have to admit, they could have overlooked it, and admit in that case the guest is right. The incident report entry from the night clerk made at Midnight, who brought a blanket also noted at that the guests were heavily intoxicated and the room had more guests in it than allowed by fire regulations. He also noted several noise complaints from neighboring rooms, but didn't dare to go back to the room to avoid any confrontation with intoxicated guests.
