We stay at unit 6 on July 15&16,2016 and then again on unit 6A only July19 to 21,2016. Unit 6 seemed to be updated recently and is definitely far superior than Unit 6A. With separate bed room, living room and kitchen, there is plenty of room for just me and my wife. It could easily accommodate 4 to 6 people. The location is fantastic jump off point to visit eastern NL. It is only half an hour from St.John's but feel a quaint small village. Nothing like that of the crowded suburbs of Toronto.
On the morning of July 22, I decided to check out early at around 8:00am to drive Port Aux Basque to catch the ferry. It is a 9 hrs drive with a few hours to spare as contingency, Am I glad I was ready to leave early as I found that I have 2 flat tires. I went to the office and knock at the door and woke up Patrick to see if he knows anyone who can patch up my tires that early in the morning. He was about to give me the direction to his friend Tom who operates a garage out of his home. He changed his mind and decided to get change and drove his own car to lead me to the garage instead. When we get to Tom's place, I have to knock at his door for a bit to wake him up. Not only was he not upset, he didn't even bother to have a coffee and start working on the tires immediately. He fixed the leaks and balance both tires all for $40 and reluctantly accept an extra $10 from me to pay for his breakfast. He treated me like an instant friend more than a customer This just added to the several other instances I have experienced throughout my NL trip. Newfees are just the warmest, folksiest, nicest and happiest people I have ever met. I could never have made the ferry in time without their help. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else if I ever return to NL.
