Arrived at the Gray Gables in the evening and my wife and I were promptly and warmly greeted by Jacqui the owner. Shown around the Bed & Breakfast and we instantly felt at home. Breakfast was served daily, and the food was well prepared and enjoyable. Attention to detail in every aspect of our visit. We visited Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenberg to mention a few of the beautiful places that were on our list. Jacqui and Dave were very gracious hosts and we enjoyed lots of good conversations during our stay. My wife and I look forward to our return visit.

My family and I stayed at Gray Gables in mid August and it is not an over statement to say that this is an exceptional B&B. The house and property are beautiful. Every morning we enjoyed our coffee on the covered porch overlooking the ocean before sitting down to a fresh, beautifully prepared breakfast, and every evening we had wine time on the porch before going out to dinner. Jacqui and Dave are lovely, gracious hosts, and this was emphasized towards the end of our stay when one of our party sustained a significant injury as a result of a fall while out for a walk. She was rushed to hospital, and both Jacqui and Dave were concerned and supportive, offering to help in any way they could.

On the last night of our stay we did not want to go out to dinner as my sister-in-law was still in hospital, so our hosts kindly agreed to our having my sister and her husband, who were travelling with us but who had rented a nearby house for themselves and their family, come to Gray Gables for our last night together. We enjoyed take-out on the porch and we were as comfortable there as we would have been in our own home. This meant so much to us and we were never made to feel that we were imposing on Jacqui and Dave. There is no question that we would be delighted to go back to Gray Gables on our next visit to Nova Scotia!

My wife and I stayed this past August at the Gray Gables Bed and Breakfast. The location couldn't be better; if we had known before hand about the view overlooking the bay we would have booked for additional nights. Jacqui made sure we were welcomed upon arrival and made us feel at home right away. The room was spotless clean and the breeze coming in made falling asleep easy. Breakfast was very well done and the coffee rich and robust. When we return to Nova Scotia we will plan on staying again. You can tell Jacqui likes what she does and she is outstanding at it.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room over looking the bay.

From the moment we arrived at this spectacular B & B nestled on a hill overlooking the bay, we knew that we had chosen well! Jacqui and David Hiltz are the consummate hosts and care deeply about their guests. The guestrooms were exquisite, carefully decorated and comfortably appointed. Each morning's breakfast was a delightful excursion into culinary perfection carefully prepared by our hosts. This quiet retreat will be a repeat for us on any travels to Nova Scotia. We highly recommend this one-of-a-kind B & B. Gil & Nannette

Room Tip: The Bay Breeze Room is spectacular (but all rooms are excellent)

A perfect combination of location, view, comfort and independence. Bed super comfortable, ocean breezes to fall asleep to. And a lovely deck to sip a glass of wine on before bed. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. And the waffles were delish!
