Beautiful little village along the lake. Most of the workers are deaf from hammering copper all day.

Santa Clara is a great place to buy anything copper. El Portón is a wonderful store. If they don't have what you need in copper, they will make it.

Beautiful town square, fantastic shopping experience if you want copper, lots of stores, demonstrations on how pots are hand hammered, wonderful day.
Did not spend the night there.

As everyone knows this is the place for copper. From bracelets, rings and necklaces all the way up with large sculptures, pots & pans all at very reasonable prices. However, this is more than just the vendors around the square, take the time to visit the copper museum and also go to one of the active forges so they can explain the entire process. That will doubtless give you greater respect for what these people do with such skill and humility.

Second visit to Santa Clara de Cobre. If you want anything in copper this is the place to go. Beautiful artwork, pots, crosses, plates and other souvenirs in the town located around the town square. Although known for it's copper artwork it has a bit more to offer, friendly people, fantastic carnitas, delicious corundas and other foods are available and freshly made. So after you're done buying all the copper you want make sure you visit the other vendors and enjoy the taste of authentic Mexican food from the street vendors.
