The design of the hotel is wonderful. I want to nominate the architect and designer for an award. The lobby is welcoming. There is a pool carefully integrated next to the bar. The open air design is stunning. I loved the way the tiles were incorporated into the stairs. There are lots of plants. There are two really nice balconies available with the upper one having a great view of the Iglesia. Breakfast was included with our room and it was nicely prepared and served. The staff was quite youthful, but helpful and friendly.

The disappointments came when we got to our room. We did have a king bed and it was satisfactory. There is virtually no storage space. We had two large appearing closets but only one lonely shelf is available in the first closet and the other closet is occupied by a safe and a small set of hangers allowing perhaps four pieces of clothes to be hung, which then make it difficult to access the safe. The bathroom is another storage nightmare. There is an oversized sink which leaves about 5 inches of space to store your supplies. We never did unpack our bags as there was no place to put anything other than on the floor. It seemed easier to just leave it in the suitcases. Why not add a few shelves to the storage closet and a shelf for placing some supplies in the bathroom? There are only three unused electrical outlets in the room. The shower has a weak water stream and fussy controls for adjusting the water temperature. The air conditioner was a plus, as was the cleverly designed mini patio in the back.

Overall, I would give the hotel an A+ for design in the public spaces, A for staff, a C for function in our room, and a D-for storage space in the room. It is difficult to give an accurate rating with such a difference of scores — 4 would be misleading given the room issues so I will go with three.

This hotel deserves five stars in almost all domains. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and helpful, providing maps, directions, and suggestions for restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. A minor complaint was that we decided that rather than go out to dinner we would eat in the hotel. The chef had already left (about 7:30) so the menu was limited. We had two orders of quesadillas (delicious) for six and a round of drinks. The cost was a much as a complete dinner at a moderate restaurant.
