Te took a special trip to Beaconsfield after we heard that the pub was very good. We were not disappointing. The baguette and the chicken liver pate starter we had melted in our mouth. the fish & chips and chicken pie we had for main courses disappeared completely. the beer was interesting and the company was great. We will no doubt be back there again soon.

Very unique and never tried such an experience
It is a self service restaurant with indoor and outdoor in a very interesting environment
The place is very charming and the food is of course the traditional British specialities
It is located outside London and highly recommended

Pleasurable pub to relax after a long walk with our family and dog on the beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. We ordered the famous fish and chips although there was a large selection of Sunday roasts to choose from. We were served by Sophie, a nice young lady who was friendly and happy to help with our questions, very smiley too. It's evident that there is building work in progress and we look forward to returning to see the results.

One of the main pleasures of visiting our son and his girlfriend in Buckinghamshire is the chance to revisit this outstanding pub and restaurant.

It is deservedly popular and can get very busy so booking is essential.

There's always something for us veggies - cauliflower cheese on this occasion - and the selection of desserts makes choosing something of a challenge.

Staff are friendly and efficient in the face of a seemingly endless flow of customers.

The old building reeks of history and atmosphere.

Be aware that there is building work in progress so there are temporary loos outside the pub. The narrow lanes are 'interesting' at busy times and even the large car park can get full.

To the next time!

This is worth a visit just to see the old inn with its quaint stalls from the coaching days. Our food was very good and staff could have been better trained as they seemed to lack a knowledge of the drinks and food they serve. Dont be put off this is well worth seeing, maybe we got it on a poor day but we still enjoyed it there
