The Butchers at Bridgemere, Walter Smith sell some great meat products. We have previously bought their pork pies which are excellent. Made on site and the best we have tasted. On this occasion Tony was really helpful in preparing a special request for me: wafer thin sliced sirloin for the Shabu-Shabu dish I was planning to make the next day. He froze the meat to make it easier to cut thin and trimmed all the excess fat off every slice for me. The price was very reasonable. And the eating experience was delicious. I shall be going there again.
We visited on Saturday afternoon, it was a nice break from the ‘new normal’ spent a couple of hours wondering around. It felt very Christmassy. We brought Sunday dinner from the butcher unfortunately it was off. Also we were a little confused that all the ‘garden centre sections of the retail area was open but not the consessions...
the staff are very friendly and helpful. The coffee is excellent and the food well cooked. Service quick usually but with change in corvid regulations staffing seems difficult occasionally, but worth the wait.
Haven’t been for years, and so was pleasantly surprised to see how much it had changed. Some good branded shops are within the garden centre complex, brilliant.
Tripadvisor , you need to get up to date as all these old reviews from early 2020 reflect the old owners of Bridgemere’s legacy. My wife an I have visited half a dozen times since April 2020 and what an improvement in everything. The gardens are beautiful and worth a visit in their own right, the plants and gardening equipment more than adequate, and the catering pretty good considering the COVID restrictions. When you add in the excellent butcher and green grocer and the other shops at Bridgemere it is definitely the best garden centre in the NorthWest
Visited the restaurant today for the first time. Covid things were all spot on, couldn’t fault it. We ordered two burger meals and a fish and chips with three cold drinks. One burger was slightly under through the middle and the lady I spoke to literally took my plate away and replaced it no issue. (Grey/dark hair glasses think was a manager and the blonde lady in chef whites). All staff were polite and spot on considering the pressure they are all under. Will definitely be visiting again. You definitely get what you pay for. Well done all of you.
