The room was average though clean, bathroom could have been cleaner.
Although it had a refurbishment in 2014 they seem to have put the old furniture back in the rooms.
However the restaurant was excellent with food on both nights cooked to perfection.
A large and varied menu and a good wine list.
I would give the room 2.5 but the restaurant would get 5, so overall I give it a 4.

Hi Thanks for your review. Not sure which room you stayed in and when but the only room with 'old' furniture as of now is not in use due to the installation of a new bathroom & that's a twin bedded room. All of our other rooms have new oak furniture, new carpets, new beds, bedding & soft furnishings.

Well where shall I begin:- Came her a couple of weeks ago for a family get together. Been here a few times over the years when visiting family in the area but can honestly say it's getting worse. This is a lovely little country pub spoiled by the lack of good management and some members of staff appearing miserable, apart from one young waitress, lovely girl, whose name I didn't get and the young bartender whose name I got as "Sam", lovely pleasant and very helpful young man which is more than can be said about the bar manager who actually couldn't care less. Could be a lovely pub to visit again if only certain staff and management bucked up their ideas and made you feel like they actually wanted you there. On a plus, food was nice but menu could do with having a bit more "pub grub" on the menu.

Room tip: Didn't sleep here.

I have stayed in a lot of pubs over the years and this has to be one of the cleanest I have ever seen. The room itself was airy with a comfy bed and a decent en-suite loo and shower room (not a cupboard with a shower in it like some I've seen). The staff were friendly and efficient, with both breakfast and evening meals well cooked and served quickly. I'd definitely recommend The Manor and will be returning if I need to stay in the area again.

Had lunch in the dining area. The service was excellent and menu was fine, I would particularly recommend the haddock goujons, which one of our party had. I will definitely be having them next time I visit.

We have been coming to the Manor for evening meals for a number of years and have never been let down, if anything it just gets better, great service. Allan the owner is a very hard working, welcoming host, the food is cooked and served to the highest standard, the draught alcohol is without doubt the best in the area, nothing is to much trouble. The bar is busy which in turn generates a good vibe into the restaraunt, give it a try,you will not be disappointed.
