A lot of information in this little museum. Fans of polar expedition history will appreciate all the artifacts and all the detailed information.

For others, it can be a good historic summary.

From the outside it appears quite a small museum, but there's loads of interesting information and artefacts inside. The museum has a really nice modern design inside, and is split into different sections documenting the various attempts during the early 20th Century to reach the North Pole.

Perhaps a little oddly, the only downside is that there is a lot of written information - but this reflects the passion of those who've put the museum together. It is possibly to dip in and out of the information on display quite easily, but an overview/introduction to each section would aid this.

Overall good value for money and a nice way to pass an hour or so.

Everything you could possibly want to know about polar exploration is revealed in documents of the day, archival footage, models and artefacts in a concise but detailed exhibition. Plus the lady who welcomed me knew so much and was so enthusiastic about the museum that I left with a smile on my face and much better informed than when I went in. Highly recommended.

The idea of a North Pole museum is very nice and as well the material exhibited, but if you visit it without having already and idea about the different expeditions most probably you won't undeastan or learn much. The exhibition is quite messy, too much material to read and the logic behind is very confusing. Defenetly needs to be reorganized but worth the visit.

The cost of entry is 100NK, which is around ten pounds. The museum deals with the expeditions to the North Pole that started in Svalbard. It is pretty well interpreted but consists mainly of photographs and models.

I was a little disappointed but there is a lot of information, especially about Italian polar exploration that is of interest.

It is certainly worth a visit, but could be merged with the larger Svalbard Museum

Thank you for you review.
The Museum cannot be merged with the other one! they are just different Museums with different purposes!
