So much information! I really recommend this for anyone interested in the Arctic explorations! And the tickets are for 3 days, you will probably need it to get all details;)

A really interesting museum that you should visit at least one time while you are in Longyearbyen! It's the perfect place to visit when you are there, just to understand much better where on earth you have arrived to!! The museum displays the main expeditions taken to the North Pole departing from Svalbard and shows the incredible job of collecting high quality-material made by the people who founded this private Museum.

Interesting collection showing the tortures of artctic explorations, with a focus on aeronautical attempts a few of which where surprising...

Lots of history particularly about the attempts to cross the North Pole by airship that left from Spitsbergen. Spent several hours reading and looking at the exhibits

Lots of information in this museum - but it mainly comprises of pages and pages of text stuck to the walls. Maybe what some people would enjoy, but our 10yr old and 13yr old were bored within minutes. There were a few videos running - but one was a 3hr documentary.... Zzzzzz

The Svalbard Museum across the road was much more suited for our family.
