The museum is based on a coal gas works as it was when production was phased out with the advent of North Sea Gas. Included in the exhibits are many examples of domestic and commercial meters and gas appliances. The staff are all volunteers and very helpful. The museum is only open on Thursdays which is Market Day so a stroll into
the town is worthwhile.
