I stayed here recently. The staff were very good - the receptionist very kindly carrried my bag to my room - that rarely happens nowdays. My room only had a large opening window onto a fire escape so clearly this could not be left open all night - there needs to be a way of doing this - I like fresh air when asleep. The residents appeared to be elderly permanent ones. My breakast choice of a full English was sadly floating in grease - nowadays food is blotted with kitchen roll to remove suplus! I didn't bother the next day. My room was cleanish (old cotton bud found under telephone) and the bed comfortable...........all sufficient for a 2 day stay.

Room tip: ask for a room with an opening window to catch the sea air

Dear Guest
Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at the hotel.
I do apologise you had some issues in your room and at breakfast. I have
spoken with both the housekeeping team and the kitchen team to ensure our standards are kept up in the future.
It is unfortunate that we cant remove the fire escape located outside your bedroom.
The Double glazed window has a tilt & turn mechanism which allows fresh air to enter
the bedroom while still maintaining a level of security. I do apologise if you were not made aware of this.
Thank you for your comments regarding the staff and I do hope if you return
to Bexhill you will allow us to be of service to you.

Kind Regards
The Sims Family

We ate a meal here recently with our elderly aunt.

The staff here are very nice, and are kind to their guests. Many of the people dining were residents.

The food was okay, but very small portions for us, but adequate maybe for the older client. Tiny roll offered with our soup. A small slice and a half of meat, very thinly cut. Would have liked a bit more!

No further drinks were offered during our meal.

The Northern Hotel is a little old fashioned, but is clean, and "quaint"

A peculiarly English seaside hotel catering for an elderly clientele of whom the staff appeared to take great care. The Northern suited us as we were travelling with an older relative. There was nothing wrong with our room nor the service. However, it is hotel for a particular generation.

Room tip: Ideal for older holidaymakers. The less mobile should request a room with direct lift access (as opposed to a mid-level room).

Our double room was newly refurbished with every facility - very comfortable. The food was once again excellent with good choices. The management and staff are ever so friendly and yet still respectful. Bexhill is a great place to visit and the Northern Hotel is the perfect place to stay. We shall return!
