We visited the Aviator for my other half’s 40th birthday in July 2021. I decided to book it, as Trip Advisor had amazing reviews for the hotel. The hotel definitely didn’t disappoint! The hotel is beautiful, in particular the entrance/atrium - which is breathtaking as you enter. We stayed in Room 327 which had a perfect view of the runway. It was also very clean, and the bed was comfortable.
In the evening, we ate in the brasserie and had the 5 course tasting menu. The food was delicious - a real treat. As we booked one of the package deals, the cost of the meal was included in the stay, and I certainly think we got our money’s worth. Our server, Kesari, was lovely too. She took time to explain the dishes, and was generally friendly, attentive and courteous.
The only point that let us down was the Skybar. After dinner, we went up to the Skybar for a late night cocktail. We were sat promptly, and the bar wasn’t too busy at the time (probably around 8 tables sat). Our server took our orders within a few minutes of being seated. We then waited for around 40/45 minutes to receive two cocktails, which weren’t anything particularly fancy. When our drinks came, there was no apology for the delay, despite another couple (sat on the table next to us) making the server aware that we had been waiting for...We visited the Aviator for my other half’s 40th birthday in July 2021. After we finished our drinks, we asked for the bill, and still we didn’t receive an apology or a very particularly friendly goodbye. The Skybar staff could learn some customer skills from the Brasserie staff, in my opinion.
We also had a candlelit/rose petal turndown service. I would certainly recommend for a couples treat. It was very romantic.
The breakfast was also very nice, a good selection of food on offer, along with fresh juices / coffee / tea. Again, the staff were very welcoming and brought our stay to a pleasant end.
All in all, I would certainly stay again, and would hope that our experience in the Skybar was a one-off. The hotel room and the Brasserie were spectacular. Thank you Aviator, we will hopefully be back soon!More
