Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful-we felt very welcomed and valued. The room was small but perfectly formed! It had everything we needed- plus balcony - pity the weather denied us it’s use! The cafe/bar downstairs is spacious , airy, relaxed and friendly. We really liked it! Would definitely visit again!

This is a nice hotel in a great location for whitstable. Bar area is good although beware as 10% seems to be added to any orders at the bar even though you go to the bar to order which seems a bit cheeky. The hotel has its own car park although space is limited but a plus for this area

Very small double room but with beautiful direct sea view. Spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. Parking at the hotel. Convenient location with easy walk into town. Nice enough bar, albeit a bit cold. You have to book breakfast the night before, but as we didn’t know if we would fancy breakfast we didn’t book, therefore we had to go elsewhere, although that was not a problem as we went to Samphire which was excellent.

I stayed in the hotel continental last night. On booking into the hotel there was no one on reception so we used the bell provided. The receptionist was very rude. There was no welcome or indeed any pretence at pleasantries. She took our name and handed over a form and the key to our room. We needed to use the car park which was poorly signposted and very poorly lit. It was raining very heavily my husband asked if it would be possible to use the car spaces outside the hotel and she claimed she had no knowledge of the times of the street parking. Very difficult to believe that we were the first peole to ask about local street parking.
As it was a sunday there was no food available after 5. Residents could only have drinks in the bar up to 9 o clock. The room was on the 2and floor no offer of help with bags. This morning checking out no one on reception again. Two members of staff were eating large rolls in the room behind reception didnt acknowledge our prescience. A receptionist appeared. No greeting or enquiries about our stay. Asked for our room number and we left. The hotel has a beautiful aspect. It is nicely decorated but zero customer service. Training for all staff urgently required. The young girl in the bar was the only polite person we encountered.

Room tip: Avoid this hotel

Vile, awful, shocking and unnecessary
DO NOT STAY HERE - if you want to be treated well. It was a sad end to a good few days in Whitstable, the bullish behaviour of one member of staff leaves a very bad impression. I will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone! Very bad service. By reading other reviews others seem to have been met with the same bad service - i would spend time looking for somewhere else to stay in Whitstable and enjoy your stay!
