Such a beautiful relaxing place, if the weather is right, good open spaces for the dogs and kids to run, lovely beautiful boats going by, see the lock in action and have a nice brew or two in the tea rooms in front of the lock. Just perfick.

It is lovely to walk down by the river at Trent Lock, the photography is great, and don't forget to take the dog with you as he will enjoy a good walk along the river ,The tea rooms are excellent, as are the restaurant, also a good walk down the canal will bring you to Long Eaton and it has swans and ducks for the children to see.

Trent Lock is where the River Soar meets the River Trent, and where the Erewash and Cranfleet canals also reach the Trent. Consequently, it is the point where the counties of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby all meet. We visited on a lovely sunny afternoon and had a great walk alongside the Cranfleet Canal. There are at least two pubs plus some tearooms so there are plenty of opportunities to get refreshments. There is also a free car park and some loos.

Stayed in a beautiful narrow boat (see AirBnb) and I agree with everyone else.

A very nice, calm and beautiful stretch of waterway with swans and ducks outside your front door.

No noise at at all, even at the weekend and everyone we meet have all been very friendly

What a lovely well looked after area. A pub, a restaurant and a tea room, what more could you ask for whilst out on a nice sunny stroll along the canal path. Lots of jolly boaters out with a happy wave and friendly greeting.
