A great location on the coast; not the prettiest of villages but it has some seaside charm. Lovely renovation of the building with stylish touches. Our room was on the ground floor and had a small patio with direct access to the car park and a small green which was fantastic with a dog particularly after the beach. The room although not very large was very comfortable and well equipped and had a lovely bathroom. Very friendly, helpful and attentive service by all the staff. Our dog was very much welcomed and spoilt with attention.

We ate in the hotel each evening and enjoyed the food. The specials could perhaps have changed daily and perhaps could have featured more local seafood. Our stay spanned a weekend with good weather so they were quite rightly and thankfully busy but the service remained good. Okay wine list but not that exciting and quite pricey.

One of two small niggles was that there was no heating and whilst it was not cold so no need particularly for heating it would have been great to have a radiator or heated towel rail to cope with the dog’s towel after the beach. A mini bar would have been useful as well.

Other than that we had a fabulous stay.

First time visit to Beadnell Towers for Sunday lunch.
Food, staff and setting were amazing plus it’s dog friendly. Good selection of vegetables and everything was piping hot.
We’re in the area all week so we’ll be back to sample the weekday menu.

Room tip: Book to avoid disappointment

Called in for refreshments and rest weary legs and ended up ordering a Sunday lunch. I had beef and husband had lamb. It was delicious. The portion size was just right. Lovely veg - roasted beetroot, green beans, carrot and suede and cauliflower cheese. The decor is eclectic and stylish and I didn’t get bored looking at it. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a meal and drinks.

We booked this weekend break a long time ago and after a few cancellations we finally made it in August. And it was definitely worth the wait. We stayed in Muckle Hoose and it’s easily one of the most beautiful hotel rooms we’ve ever had. Huge space with a huge bathroom and the lovely copper baths which made a very romantic addition. They also came in very handy after long days exploring the north east coast! The hotel restaurant was really good, although it would have been nice to have a dedicated bar area to have pre or post dinner drinks. The pub nearby was also pretty good for a cheaper option on one of the nights too. If you’re staying for a while Beadsnell beach is worth a look, a shallow bay which was great with the nice weather we had whilst there but the other beaches in the area are stunning too. I would definitely return!

The dinner at Beadnell Kitchen was a delight, the Chicken Kiev was delicate, crispy and one of the best I’ve had while the sticky toffee pudding was soft, light and divinely sticky. One of the party had the Hake with potted shrimp butter which they said was beautiful- highly recommended restaurant
