Description: We are a traditional English country pub that nestles next to the river coquet in northumberland. Our food is a mix of bar and restaurant, and we try and source as much as possible from local suppliers.

Booked 3 night B&B through Groupon for £129 and boy what an absolute gem of a place.

The room was clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom complete with excellent shower.

Breakfasts were first rate using local fresh produce.

We tried the restaurant for dinner and although a little concerned that it offered so much choice at the risk of quality, our fears were quickly put to rest. The food was so good we actually ate there all 3 evenings with something different each night and each dish was absolutely delicious

Our biggest mistake was the first evening, we ordered starters and they were almost a meal in themselves hence only managing half our main course.

Although the desserts looked mouthwatering, the main course beat us each time, perhaps next time!

On the last evening I attempted the mix grill and I must say it was one of the best I have ever tasted. The steak, lamb, chicken and sausages were real quality meats and cooked to perfection.

Throughout our stay all the staff were really friendly and efficient and nothing was any trouble for them.

The stay there simply made our holiday and we will certainly be going back.

Cannot praise them enough

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Eventhough the pub was very busy at SundY lunch time service was still quick and efficient. Great range on menu and tasty food. Lots of choice of beer and wines . As prt of a large party we were very well catered for.

Noticed the roadside signs to the pub on our way back from a visit to Cragside so rang and booked a table. The young lady behind the bar was really warm and friendly when we arrived and that followed through with the waiter. The menu is nice and varied, not just sticking to pub classics with chips that seems to be the easy cop out for a lot of places these days. Well done the Anglers Arms we had a very pleasant evening. Thank you.

We stopped here for a meal during a journey home. It was a popular spot and busy, but they found us a table. I choose the lamb's liver. They asked me how I'd like it cooked, but then didn't serve it that way - I'd have been happier if they hadn't asked at all.

I'd eat here again, but would choose something different next time.
