We have just been to this hotel for new year again and Rob and Tegan have a fantastic place. we spent 4 nights there with a great meal in the bistro on the Friday night which was bettered by the special new years eve celebrations meal, the Lamb James produced was the best I have ever tasted. the hotel is very clean and comfortable with all staff very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back! Thanks again Rob and Tegan enjoy your well deserved break and we will see you soon. regards Paul&Wendy

Room Tip: all rooms have sea views

We have just returned from Seahouses for a New Year break and stayed at the St Aidan Hotel for 4 nights. We had a great time.
We had only booked for three nights in the Big Harcar room which is right at the top. Rob managed to fit us in for another night in the Knocks Reef room which was a smaller room just above th bar.
There are no negatives - location is great, a very short walk from the beach on one side and to the town on the other. Both rooms had stunning views - Knocks Reef looking out to sea, Big Harcar looking towards Bamburgh Castle. Beds were comfy (in the larger room it was two singles put together but this was fine). Lots of space in the big room, less so in the smaller but this is reflected in the price. Another reviewer has commented on the bathroom in the larger room needing updating - yes it could do with an update and the owners are probably going to get around to this at some point however, for us it was fine, plenty of hot water and the towel radiator was always lovely and warm.
Breakfast was great, served 8.30-9.30. The eggs benedict was fab with the best poached eggs I have ever had and the full Northumberland breakfast was really good as well. We also had the three course New Years Day brunch which was really good and spent a nice afternoon sat in th bistro and then in the bar with our wine. Good selection of drinks in the honesty bar which was a nice touch. Breakfast room/bistro had a very relaxed atmosphere.
All the staff were really friendly and clearly work really hard although we're never so busy that they couldn't stand and have a chat. Nothing was too much bother. We will definately be back.

Room Tip: Big Harcar is very spacious with great views of Bamburgh Castle.

Fantastic made to order breakfast! Filled us up nicely for a cold day's walking. Very friendly welcome and staff. Really enjoyed looking out our bedroom window at the Farne Islands, and watching a surfer whilst having our breakfast. Very relaxing stay!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband, check in was very easy. Room was immaculate with a view over the beach and up to Bamburgh Castle. Breakfast was delicious and everyone was more than willing to give tips on where to go and what to see. 2 day’s here felt like a week off!

Views at this hotel are stunning. Rooms very clean and we'll decorated. Breakfasts are all local produce and you can tell . Nothing seems to be a problem for Rob. Water hot for baths . This time of year he does a 3 night stay for the price of 2. Eating at his bistro tonight and expert it to be very good. Very small walk to the centre of the town.
