Many thanks for your lovely comments - we hope to see you again soon
We arrived for our annual end of October Autumn weekend away to this beautiful Inn. It's as stunning as always with a very friendly atmosphere and what is so pleasant is the way that all the guests and patrons are so friendly towards one another - the calmness and openness of the atmosphere seems to bring the best out in the patrons. We were met with yet another fantastic menu (it's always changing and always seems better than the last time) and we were certainly not disappointed in the food - simply wonderful again. The wine list has certainly got a great range (in prices and wines) and some little beauties - I have not seen a Fitou for a while and was so glad that we had a bottle with an exquisite steak. Can't wait to stay again.
They say that some things get better with age. This is certainly true about this lovely 16th century Inn. We stayed there for two nights in the Inn itself. There are some outbuildings a section of which is much more recent. The food was excellent and the breakfast really special. I have read reviews about the service being slow in the King's Head. This was certainly not the case in our experience. All the staff were lovely and helpful. For an old Inn our bedroom was really comfortable with some lovely little additions Being old you have to put up with a few quirky features. If my readers want a special experience in this lovely part of the Cotswolds then don't give this pub of the year 2018 a miss.
Excellent rooms, great amenities, fantastic ambiance. Beautiful pub captures the old world charm. Rooms have all the modern conveniences. Staff was very friendly, ready and willing to help. Highly recommended.
Excellent location with a very warm welcome, all of the staff are most helpful and their service likewise. Room was good but would have benefited from a shower over the bath, the bath was not easy to get out of. Food was very good, evening meal and breakfast, Some good real ales, try Wooky bitter. Location makes it easy to reach Oxford, Blenheim Palace etc. Very enjoyable 3 nights.
Had a great visit to The Cotswolds stayed at The Kings Head. Stayed in room 1 do not book this room too noisy. Food good though but not amazing. Staff wonderful helpful and very friendly
