Hotel is situated in the middle of the town, but the rooms are more to the rear than the front so not too much noise from the road.

Rooms are a good size and hotel staff are most welcoming. Ample car parking to rear of hotel.

Stairs up to rooms and no elevators so a bit of a struggle with cases. To be fair staff did offer to assist.

Had a drink in the bar on Sunday night around six thirty. Only one staff member on duty so service slow. Other staff flitted through the bar but did not bother to assist.

Ate in the restaurant and was impressed with quality of food. Portion size is small compared to comparable hotels (Talbot in Malton). Perhaps I am greedy? Toast served with pate was soft with no crunch. Perhaps I am picky?

Breakfast buffet limited, but good range of cooked breakfasts on offer.

Overall would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone and we will be back

Room Tip: Ask for a rom at the back of the building

This hotel has no lifts up to the rooms, a lot of elderly book this place and a few seem to struggle on the steep stairs, they do have what they call a suite or coach house which is ok a bigger room than the small rooms in the main building but at a price that does not match what you pay for, the bar is expensive for what it is, a lot of foreign accents can be heard from the staff who some do not have any character. The room I was in had 2 single uncomfortable beds, shower was just alright. Food was ok but not great. The price does not match what you get ,if I stay there again it's because everywhere else was full

Second visit, stayed with a friend for a birthday getaway and had a wonderful time. Room was fairly standard nice room on second floor - quite a few stairs but we're both fairly fit so didn't bother us (the elderly may struggle!). It was incredibly hot overnight but I think that was due to freak hot weather and heating being set for normal april weather).

Had dbb package and very glad we did. Service was excellent and the food was simply stunning (some of the best food I've ever had and I've eaten in a lot of good restaurants!). Amazing value on the package.

Visited spa next day, not huge with small pool and steam/sauna/ jacuzzi which was very pleasant. Treatments were great, only thing lacking was somewhere to relax after treatment (seriously need a quiet relaxation room to chill in after!!!!!). But despite that it was a very enjoyable inexpensive treat.

Overall a wonderful stay, standard rooms are just that but very clean and well maintained, beds very comfy. Staff were lovely, excellent restaurant meal and service. Looking to return again later in year.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and for your kind comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We take a high interest in our guests comments in the hope that we can try to improve our facilities. A relaxation room is something we have been discussing and are looking into later in the year. Also recently, after our mystery AA guest inspection, we have retained our 2 AA Rosettes which we are expremely proud of.
Once again, thank you and we do look forward to welcoming again in the not too distant future.

For £30 each (offer) my daughter and I had a lovely neck, shoulder and back massage, nail file and polish, full use of the pool, steam room and sauna plus a lovely afternoon tea. Can't say fairer than that!
Staff were very friendly especially the bar staff, nothing was too much trouble. There were lots of people in for lunch and all the food looked tasty. Our afternoon tea was served on a tiered plate and was delicious.

We stayed here in April 2015 around the bank holiday with our two small children (aged 2&4).

What stood out enormously was how accommodating and great the staff were with the children. The first night we decided to eat in the bar after a swim. When we got back from the pool the lovely waiter (Dan) had a table laid and ready for us, they had a children's menu and excellent food for grown ups (pork belly and steak, 2 courses for £13). Without even asking, the lovely receptionist (Natalie) bought us colouring books, pens and toy cars. We were set up in a lovely little room that was perfect and cozy. Our bedroom had a sofa bed made up with plenty of pillows and a huge bed for lie in's together with cbeebies on the TV!

The staff were very kind to the boys and eased our stress with two over tired children after a long journey. They even provided us with warm milk for a bottle.

Also - loads to do in the area for children; farm parks, soft play, steam railways and surrounding countryside.

We felt so looked after and comfortable we even booked for a second un planned night.

Thank you to everyone at the Wynnestay.

If we are ever in the area again, we would stay, and certainly recommend this hotel to families.
