Stayed at barn cottage for a week, a great base to see Bath, Wells, Glastonbury etc local national trust sites too. Red lion pub in Woolverton great food. Cottage well equipped and cosy. Owners unintrusive. A pleasant stay for us.
Barn Holiday Cottage is on a fruit farm in the tiny village of Rode, near Frome in Somerset. The location is ideal for travelling to such places as Bath, Lacock Village and Abbey, Longleat Safari Park, and Nunney Castle. Unfortunately I was snowed in for three days of the seven I was there, so was unable to do much in the way of sight-seeing, but the cottage is so delightful and cosy that I was more than happy to spend the time just gazing out of the windows at the snow-packed orchards and taking a long-overdue break relaxing. The cottage has everything you could want for an extended holiday, and Sarah and Mike are lovely, friendly hosts, happy to help if you need. I can't praise the cottage enough. Thank you, Sarah and Mike for a lovely, quiet and very peaceful stay.
Sitting close to the border of Somerset and Wiltshire. The cottage is ideally located to explore the nearby countryside around Frome. It is well resourced with everything that you would need for a relaxed stay to unwind in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is located in a lovely tranquil location on a small farm within easy reach of main A36 and A361 roads and Bath and Bristol. Further afield but within a 40 minute drive west lies the lovely small city of Wells and the Bishops Palace is well worth a visit. Wookey Hole is a fantastic a great value venue for adults and children and includes an escorted trip into the caves as well as other attractions, with the Cheddar Gorge a short trip further west. The owners are very friendly and discreetly on hand if needed. We had a fantastic break and felt fully recharged.Could not fault our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. With sincere thanks.
