We stayed here on the way to and the way back from Bloodstock and picked it for nearby location and price. Staff on both visits were absolutely wonderful - cheery despite late hour of our arrival, helpful and friendly.

Room was spotless, beds comfy and as much tea/coffee as we could drink was provided.

The only real negative was the fair number of dodgy looking teenagers hanging around the nearby garage when we arrived late on the Thursday night, so we were a little worried about our car, but those fears came to nothing.

Nice location, too - very short walk into the pleasant town centre the next morning for breakfast.

The receptionist was a smiling and delightful member of staff and is a credit to the company. We shall certainly use Travelodge again. This company was recommended to us by our son who regularly uses Travelodge.

Booked just for one night as we was attending our friends 40th birthday party.
Met by a wonderful lady who was friendly and pleasant.
Room was as expected , well ventilated clean and comfy.
Got the room on saver rate for £32 and paid for WiFi at an extra £3.
The only down side to that was only 2 of us could use it and there was 3 of in the room it might be worth making it so all members booked into rooms have access but that was only down side.

Well worth the money.

I booked the Travelodge as a stopover for myself, my husband and our children ready for Alton towers the next day. We were greeted warmly by a pleasant member of staff who handed over our keys, I really have no complaints there. On entering our room we were hit by sub zero temperatures only to discover that our bedroom windows had been left open for god knows how long. Not a great start.
On using the bathroom we discovered that there was mould, limescale and rust on every surface - triple threat!
Having travelled a long way from the south we were all ready to charge our devices, iPhones and iPads, and yet due to the solitary plug socket it came down to a game of rock, paper, scissors as to who got to bagsy the plug socket for the first shift.
After getting the children ready for bed we discovered that the two single beds provided were the state of the art in anti-spring technology. So hard infact that it was akin to sleeping on a bed of rock. This was not helped by the fact that the bedding was as abrasive as sand paper, paper thin and suspiciously stained. Lovely.
The one redeeming feature was the television provided, a decent size for a budget hotel. However, upon turning the volume level from one to two, an angry neighbour began to pound so hard on the wall we feared they would break right through the papier-mâché that the hotel was clearly made from. Whatever we watched, they heard, and so we lay there, in silence, being exfoliated from head to toe by our own bedding.
After a sleepless night we gave up hope of sleep, and my husband bravely attempted a shower. Surprise surprise, the water was cold and the towels lacked the same fabric conditioner as the bedding.
But the piece de resistance was having to get ourselves and the children dressed in the dark as when we opened our curtains we were greeted by the local town drunks, congregating in the park to the rear of the hotel. One had a can of fosters, another a can of cider, a third simply staggered to the duck pond to feed them his empty crisp packet. A nice touch, we felt.
With hindsight we would simply have driven straight to Alton towers car park, reclined our seats, and bedded down for the night, in far more comfort and luxury than found at the Travelodge.
