I visited the Deanery today for the first time as I met up with a friend and we just wanted a coffee. The Deanery seems to be geared up for lunches, but we arrived just after 2:30 and ordered coffee and cakes. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the coffee and cakes couldn't be faulted. Later on we were the last people seated but never felt rushed to leave. Very pleasant surroundings and, overall, a lovely place to meet. I've heard good reports about their lunches so I plan to try one soon!

We ate here after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. It was our first visit to Tamworth and we were looking for somewhere to have a nice lunch after our shopping.

It was well worth the visit. It's a nice, friendly little cafe with a good range of home cooked food. We both had lunch from the specials - a very tasty (and large) chilli hotdog, and steak and ale pie. Both came with good chips! Portions are generous and we thought the price was fine. We didn't have room for a home made cake but they looked very good!

The regular menu had a wide range of other home cooked options so you should be able to find what you're looking for. We'd happily come again, and recommend others to do so.

I regularly visit The Deanery for a breakfast and without exception the food is cooked to absolute perfection. Bacon, fried egg, hash brown, tomato (fresh or tinned), sausage and beans, with toast and tea or coffee for £4.25. The café is comfortable and newspapers are provided for customers to read. Friendly and efficient service. What more could you ask for!
