Description: At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We don’t do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. We’re all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Zizzi in Croydon is one of the few converted historical buildings in our repertoire. We love to incorporate aspects of the surrounding community in every restaurant but this time, the job was done the minute we moved in!We’re located right in the heart of South Croydon’s cosmopolitan area and only a short walk from the Vue Cinema and Fairfield Halls. Stop by for a bite to eat and then spend the day perusing the shops in South End. Perfect way to spend a Saturday…or Tuesday if you have a “sick day”.

Visited Zizzi in Croydon with a friend one evening earlier this week, and was disappointed. We had a discount voucher (buy one main meal, get another main meal for £1) so thankfully we didn't pay full price, however it did not live up to the standards we have previously received at this branch. They have a new large floppy menu, all in very small dull print, which in itself looks very bland and unexciting, and the choice of starters and mains didn't seem as good. The staff were very sullen and moody looking. We shared a brushetta pomodoro for starter, which on previous visits had been piled high with chopped tomatoes and basil on 3 chunky slices of bread, but this time was 2 small thin rounds of what looked like fried bread, with about 6 halves of baby tomato on each. For mains we had a pizza (my friend said hers was fine) and a ravioli which was ok, if a bit dry. We had a large glass of wine each at about £5.50 a glass - guess that's where they get their money back on the meal deals! There are so many restaurants in Croydon, I won't be returning to this one again I'm afraid. A shame as it has a nice atmosphere and is a nice building.
