Ideally situated in a lovely part of town with lovely gardens this should be a brilliant hotel but it is far from it.
The place is absolutely filthy and in need of a proper clean.
As you sit in the breakfast room your view is the massively cobwebbed windows that mustn’t have been cleaned for many months and are full of spiders feasting on daddy longlegs that are trying to wriggle away not to mention the window sills that are covered in dead flies.
Breakfast was that bad it was actually quite amusing.
No cutlery, no condiments, no butter etc. We both ordered the poached eggs on toast and it basically arrived as a single, dry piece of toast with a very overcooked poached egg, it would have been overcooked if it were actually a hard-boiled egg.
The tea arrived with no milk and we couldn’t find any in the room so just gave up and went somewhere else for breakfast, it was an utter joke.
Basically, the place could be lovely but in massive need of a refurb as it is falling to bits and someone in charge needs to look at their standards as if you think that standard of cleanliness is acceptable you shouldn’t be in the hospitality trade.
The only good point was the lovely French chap behind the bar, very helpful.More
