This place is so amazing. I really want to go back. I stayed in the cottage and friends stayed in the big house. The cottage is really small, with everything you really need, like a big double spa with a view. We spent every night in the spa. With champagne, of course. We also kept the home fires burning every day and night with the nice supply of wood. I got a burn on my arm from putting the wood in. But that's what you get if you want to have fire. it was worth it though. There is something very nice about a fire.
The bed is really big and warm. It feels like an electric blanket is on it, but there isn't. There are two robes as well which was very handy because I couldn't fit my robe in, so I was very pleased to see that. The only problem for me was the coffee machine, which I didn't think made very good coffee. I bought my own, but the stove was convection and didn't work with my stainless steel pot, so I had to build the fire up a lot to put my coffee pot on it to boil. It would take about 40 mins in the morning.
There is a washing machine, but no drier. There is also no towel heater or warmer and after the spa, we got all of the towels etc very wet....This place is so amazing. I really want to go back. I saw in the main house that there was a towel heater. The cabin would be so much better if it had one of these as well.
There was things in the cupboards, like a jaffle maker, or toasted sandwich, if you don't know what a waffle is (and spell check doesn't because it keeps changing it to waffle).
The location is on a little road with a whole bunch of land around it so people can't come too close, right next to what looks like crown land or National park. There are a million wallabies jumping all over the property and birds, so you get a real nature show.
There are two albino wallabies too.
There is a creek going through the back yard.
There are two bikes and you can get on them and go for a ride. The one thing that I would complain about was the lack of a lock on the bikes to use. I wanted to bike ride to the Fluted cape walk and there was no lock, so I had to hide the bike in the bush and hope no one nicked it. They didn't.
But I can't tell you how good it was having the bikes to ride. The property is very close to the sea. Adventure Bay shop is really close. I rode up to get things, like cheese and wine. There are really nice walking tracks close by too.
It is an amazing place. Chilly when I went, in July, but so nice. I like the cold weather. It means the spa and the fire make you so cozy. And after a nice bike ride and bush walk, it feels so nice to come back to a warm spa and cottage.
Everything is for two in the cottage. A leather couch for two. A table for two. A bath for two.
There are lots of games to play in the cupboards too. Or a jigsaw puzzle. It was nice sitting outside in the morning with a coffee and watching the wallabies and birds.
Very nice place. I want to go back with all my kids and stay in the main house. Which also had everything I have mentioned and more: like an air conditioner if you didn't want to use the fire and a big family table out on the balcony. It was more on a hill and had a better view too. But the cottage has the creek and the wallabies.More
