Absolutely LOVE this place. Amazing bar. Friendly staff. Delicious food - huge hamburgers, try the Wallaby. They even added a meat patty to a Vege Burger for me - legends! More lighting needed in Dining room. Large rooms warm & comfy beds. Bathrooms 70's style, clean & hot showers. Ample self-serve breakfast. Big log fire in dining room. $80 per night. Walking distance to Mt Field National Park. It's all good

Booked on-line, and arrived late one evening. Great warm welcome, chatty local fellows in bar, old style pub with toilets/showers down corridor, great roaring fires, Josh and missus doing a great job. Pricing reasonable, beer and wine cold, ample breakfasts, and they cooked us a meal even when we arrived late. Would stay again

Room Tip: Check with Josh

What a delightful place is the National Park Hotel.
We were warmly greeted by Joff. Our concerns at being too late for dinner were smartly put to rest, especially when we were served a hamburger in the old fashioned style- one you couldn't get your mouth around- with all the trimmings, including pineapple!!
Bedroom was also in the old fashioned style- a matching bed head and mirrored wardrobe.
Best quality linen, good pillows and warm carpet underfoot.
The dining room had a huge fireplace, just the thing for a coolish Tasmanian evening.
Breakfast was do it yourself which suited us too. I'm an early riser so was able to get my first cup of coffee without disturbing anyone else. The fire had died down over night.
Our hostess, whose name I didn't get, brought in half a tree(!) and soon had it sending out heat waves.
I have no hesitation in recommending the National Park Hotel as a top spot to stay.

I required somewhere to stay that was close to Mt Field National Park. The hotel was the right choice, aside from a slightly-too expensive menu, the hotel itself looked incredibly new. The furnishings were delightful, the carpet in the room was new and spongy, the blankets were so soft and the room was quiet. The heater dried some of my wet clothes very fast. A great nights sleep and options for disappearing early, it was just right.

Room Tip: Book early, I can see this place selling out when people get wind of the value
