“Rich in history but currently poor in presentation; the cafe is gorgeous though and the second hands goods store is FASC”

The New Norfolk former Mental Health Asylum is now a mostly closed off collection of buildings from varying eras now privately owned by various organisations. A cafe remains operational as does a museum with second hand antiques and yesteryear gear.

Closed, no explanation, no opening times. Looks closed for good. Only the motel was open. The cafe has a sign that says it's closed but even the website is gone. Very disappointing as I was bringing people from overseas.

This place is an amazing gem. The site with its beautiful old buildings is now mainly used as an antique fair and a place of a large collect of "junk" and discards from building sites, car yards and other places. Really hard to describe what it is like but if you are passing by it should not be missed. If so inclined you could spend hours here going through the collection there is so much of it to see. There is even a lovely cafe on site as well as a motel. On weekends there is even a small farmers market on the grounds. The various buildings have great architectural merit and I hope, (but doubt it) that they can be maintained and looked after.

A former asylum that now houses antique stores and a truck graveyard. Read up on the history, makes sad and fascinating reading.

Looked like a breakers yard with an amazing selection of vehicles. Could not enter the antique area so went back to a great place in town.
