Very nice establishment. The room we had was excellent. As well as the main dining room for breakfast, there was a separate kitchenette come dining area where you could prepare a meal or have take away. We had the latter. My wife was quite taken with a kit that was in one of the draws next to the bed.

Our room was very clean and comfortable with lovely garden views. Walking distance to a cafe and local pub over the river. Very quiet location. Our host were very friendly and happy to meet any requests.

Room Tip: Rooms over looking garden were great

(If you’re looking for a modern looking place, this is not for you!) I booked this last minute as a treat for my grandma so we could be close to Hobart and I’m so glad I found this gorgeous place! Located only 30 minutes from Hobart, this is in a great location to stay. Upon arriving we were absolutely blown away by the beautiful grounds that surround the B and B. It was like an enchanted garden! Inside is the most beautiful interior decorating I’ve seen since coming to Tasmania. Lots of doilies, flowers, lace and red velvet chairs! The common room and dining area are absolutely stunning so I’ll let you see them for yourself. Gorgeous views of the garden from almost every window of the B and B. Rooms are spacious and also beautifully decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Rodney was very welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for a better host! I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough! Suitable for families, couples, groups or friends.

How wonderful could Rosie's or their hosts be! Having first looked to stay in Hobart over Easter and not able to, we found Rosie's... 20minutes at most away from Hobart cbd and the most amazing trip back in time and culture possible in 'real' Tasmanian style. Too too good, when other than magnificent scenery and a gateway to everywhere else, New Norfolk has very little else to offer...
Rosie's entirely reminds you why and how Tasmanian development and new Norfolk has been, was, might be and must again. How it was a bit ruined by development and what it still has to offer as the gateway into the rest from Hobart and into it as an out of Hobart town from the north.
Quite simply... real Tasmanian authenticity and hospitality at its most incrediblest and fullest. Also as they don't need to do!
This is a family who originated and made Rosie's and have the fullest story of new Norfolk to offer with it. It is on every wall, on every personal nook and cranny of the place... and oozes from your hosts who revel in talking to you, finding out about you and welcoming you into their lives and history and place whilst helping you onwards...

As a northern hemisphere 70s person I grew up with an Australian show called the Sullivan's, and this is what I felt like I had stepped into... But it had too too many similarities to my Mum and my now dead Great Aunties houses in Scotland too.. Just amazing and anyone wanting a real vintage time trawl or experience in time must simply get to Rosie's. Thankfully at this far flung place of the world however the real vintage trawlers might leave it alone to remain a brilliant marvellous treasure of perfection that it is... while serious minded respect her dutifully...
Rosie's is a true and authentic gem.
She offers breakfast... everything made from local produce and amazing....and in true preservation all garden grown and preserved style... with explanations behind....don't be put off... it's just the same way my 80 year old aunt made hers.. and too too good, because it is all garden grown! All of this in a Chinz dining room full of lace and silver in cabinets which grandchildren are groomed into polishing for her in holidays...and just in the same way as my aunties only wanted to know brown or white toast, tea or coffee, so do they at Rosie's.

There is an incredible sense of wonderful here. Please don't spoil it. But please spoil the people who make it with the right kind of visit and appreciation. They are gems.

Lovely place for a overnight or a weekend stay. Owners very lovely and when had breakfast we were asking about the roses when they were in bloom and she came out with ipad showing when they were! Absolutely beautiful pics! Sad we were at the end. The shower was good and the bed comfortable.
