Avoid hotel at all costs do not stay here Hotel was old, outdated, we tried to find our room and had to walk through construction because front desk did not give good directions and a map they gave us did not list our room. They were trying to do renovations but our room faced banquet center that was storage area for all the outdated items. It was very hot obviously the a/c does not work. The game room smelled and most of the games were broken, the roof was leaking in game room. The rooms that were being renovated had all construction materials leaning on windows or just outside the room doors that we had to look at. Pictures on website did not match what we walked into our room, the air-conditioner was in the bathroom area, on the floor, that was down a hallway 15 feet away from the sleeping area and was really too hot to sleep, room was really smelly, we were supposed to stay for two nights and barely made the eight hours we were there. Bunk beds in rooms were really shaky, almost collapsing. Carpeting in room was disgusting, we took shoes off and after walking to bathroom and back to bed area our socks were black. Carpet also had stains and door did not shut when we went out. Tried to find front desk from our room, it took 15 minutes to find it. No signs pointing on how to get there, had to go through multiple doors and smelly slightly dark hallways. Restaurant area was dark and I wouldn't trust the food with the way the rest of the hotel is. It should be condemned everything was just dirty. We did not even go to the water park because the rest of the hotel was disgusting, this was a terrible hotel. We Will never ever ever ever stay here again they got us for the second night that we were supposed to stay. We checked out as soon as we could, told lady at front desk we were checking out she looked at me funny after noticing we were supposed to stay 2 nights but she didn't ask why, or how the stay was. Unbelievable!! She had to know!! We went up to the Kalahari resort and we are glad we did.Save your money do not stay here!

Room Tip: Stay in your car, it is much cleaner!

My in laws checked in first and had to move rooms. My mother in law states the room was disgusting and no elevator. They moved her to the newer section, which was a little better. We checked in and advised we wanted to be in the newer section as they had just moved my mother in law. Heidi was an excellent help! She was the saving grace of our trip. We walked in to the room and it smelled like cigarette smoke and there were pweed (Yes marijuana) seeds on the night stand. Heidi quickly changed our rooms. The water park was OK. The resturuant was very basic, hamburger, hot dogs and nachos. Kids meals were $6.50 with no drink, but a corn dog was $2 and fries $3, so not sure the point os the kids meals, cheaper to buy seperate. Someone is not very good at math. The next morning we went to their breakfast. $9.95 a person, for the same meal you would get free at a Marriott or other type hotel. What really turned me off was a young man outside talking on the phone clearly upset. My husband heard his conversation and he was upset with someone not telling him how sick his mother was. An older lady comes out and yells at him to take off his shirt and walk away from the building using that language. He tells her she doesn't understand his mother is dying of cancer. She continues to yell at him. He walks away and finishes his phone call. This young man is about 20 years old losing his mother. As a customer I was more concerned about him and his feelings instead his words. The young man came back in and apologized to the older lady. Instead of her showing ANY compassion to this young man, she continued to berate and belittle him. I understand what she was saying to the young guy, but at some point people are more important than the business. She kept telling him "I could get you fired". Not once reaching out and showing some sort of compassion. I hope this young man did not lose his job. This world is real messed up when our main concern is a person's language when they find out their mother is terminal, instead of ensuring that young person is OK. Only positive was Heidi, keep her and let her teach others customer service.

Dear Nakita J:

Thank you for the kind words about Heidi. She is an excellent team member and a wonderful example for our employees.

We are sorry the other employee did not show more compassion for her co-worker.
The loss of a parent is extremely difficult. Our deepest sympathies go out to our team-member and his family.

We appreciate your feedback. Comments from our guests are very helpful to us and will help us identify areas of improvement.

We hope you will visit with us soon.

After having gone to Kalahari and Great Wolf this place was so getto and WONT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE I LIKE. Dirty, understaffed, falling down, not enough rafts to be able to ride anything u want anytime and we paid for it, small place for the park, lots of wasted space, horrible check-in experience, I felt actually sorry for the workers they work in such an unprofessionally ran environment. Wasn't enough life guards to have all areas open, lazy river has a dirty ring around it from scum, most people had to swim in the lazy river because there was not enough Round rafts, broken hot tub attached to pool and just roped off. Ugh. Gross!!!!

We stayed 3 nights, only used the waterpark for 1 day. Kids had enough after 3 hours or so. This was our home base for Cedar Point and taking the ferry to the Lake Erie Islands. We usually have to get two standard rooms but the bunk beds here were awesome for our 3 kids. Plenty of tattoo watching was a plus!
