We enjoyed our stay and breakfast was typical but good. Front desk staff were nothing special as far as friendliness but they were efficient. This hotel did have pets in it, so I know that bothered some of the other guests.

It's difficult to give a rating for the above broad questions. Some parts of the room/stay/food/customer service were fantastic, but there were enough frustrations to give very low ratings, also.

We thought breakfast was great. It met our expectations of a hotel breakfast and even exceeded those expectations by changing the food options daily. The bananas foster banana chunks and french toast croutons were fun! Staff helping with breakfast were always friendly! The coffee was often empty, though.

The staff working the front desk were always friendly, as well. They always seemed to take care of whatever we needed while we were there. We found out after checking out that while a front desk staff person was taking care of a reservation situation where our keys didn't work halfway through our stay, a much bigger problem was created. That front desk person and all of us felt like the problem was solved at the time, though.

Our room was nice. Two queen beds with the L shaped couch made for a nice space for a family of 4. We loved the spa shower, although it took us a bit of time to figure out how the nozzles worked. The extended sink was great for allowing us to store personal items on the ledge. The lighting was terrible at the sink area to apply makeup or do hair.

The room was relatively quiet. There was one early morning where 6 kids were next door and were quite loud, but that was only once and they filed out of that room shortly after making such a racket. The bathroom is another story. You can hear people singing in the shower and understand whole conversations. That is creepy.

Friday was a day we planned to spend at the pool in the hotel. There was a sign on the pool door stating the pool was closed until the next afternoon for weekly cleaning. So the pool is closed for an entire day for weekly cleaning while it is partially drained and chemicals balanced? This needs to be noted on the website so people can plan not to spend Friday in the pool.

I've never experienced housekeeping like I did at this hotel. Our beds weren't always made. I found out after our stay that if any personal item is left on the bed, housekeeping will not touch them. At other hotels, if we leave our own blanket on the bed, the bed is made and the blanket folded. There were no other personal items on the bed. Our dirty mugs and glasses were never removed from our room. If we brought up breakfast to eat in our room, the dirty plates were never cleared. Not all of our trash was taken out each day. For example an empty pizza box leaning on the wastebasket was left, but the basket was emptied. BUT, an open bag of my son's candy that was left on the desk and only half gone, was taken. Glasses and mugs were not replaced. Coffee was not replaced. I contacted the front desk and they were happy to provide me with the needed items when I came down to retrieve them. Our room was never vacuumed and the floor needed to be vacuumed. Some days housekeeping didn't come until after 5pm and our do not disturb sign had NOT been on the door since 9am. Housekeeping didn't even knock before coming into our room once when we happened to be in there.

After arriving back home and reviewing our emailed bill, we realized that we had a serious room charge problem. My conversation with the manager was disheartening and frustrating. There were some major problems with our reservation and room charges. We had booked our room online originally, but later called the hotel to extend our stay. The manager didn't seem to be hearing what I was telling her. At least six times during our conversation she was very clear to explain that I shouldn't have booked our stay the way I did. I had called the hotel! I had no control over how it was booked in the computer. She did eventually fix the charges.

First, when booking please be aware that this hotel is attached to a convention center. The weekend we stayed, there was a large convention focused on families with children- which is fine, but the hotel staff seemed somewhat overwhelmed and not able to keep up with the demand. When we went for breakfast the first day, a full hour prior to the end of the breakfast time, there was literally NOTHING LEFT except hard boiled eggs and a few bowls of cereal. The second and third day, some items ran out (fruit) and were just not replenished. So if you are counting on breakfast there, and there is a convention going on, go early.

The hotel is very modern, and I thought very clean. Pool area is nice but small. Beds were very comfortable and, notably, the hotel seemed very quiet despite the convention as noted above. Odd- the bathroom had an opaque sliding glass door through which you could actually see light and movement. OK with your husband and kids, but might be a little weird if you are rooming with a colleague for a convention. Location is convenient if you have a car; there is really nothing much within walking distance.

I would stay here again, I think, but not if there was a convention going on next door.

Everything was great, very clean, very friendly and a wonderful hotel! Didn’t enjoy the breakfast - we ate out for breakfast our 2nd morning - but that was our personal preference. Wish there was a hot tub, but again - personal preference!
