I just spent the weekend at the Gasche House. Marsha, the innkeeper, is a lovely hostess, and the house is warm and charming. After the stress of air travel, it was a welcome relief. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nicely appointed...plenty of towels, great water pressure in the shower. Surprising in an old Victorian, especially given that it is well water. Nice breakfast, plenty of fluffy towels, on a nice, historic main street.

Room Tip: There are four rooms, including a two bedroom suite. The suite has a bathroom, the other rooms share a bath.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Gasche House and found it to be absolutely delightful. Marcia goes out of her way to be accommodating and to make you feel welcome. Most importantly, she makes a spectacular breakfast. When we stayed, she made a wonderful egg souffle with an assortment of fresh fruit, juices and coffee. The home was built in the 1850s and is tastefully decorated. The rooms have sufficient privacy, and the beds are comfortable. The back room has its own bathroom and is significantly larger than the others. Parking in the rear of the house is convenient and well lit. The best thing about the Gasche House is its location: one mile from Wooster College and half a mile from the downtown restaurant corridor (Liberty and Market). The walk to downtown takes all of five minutes. Although it was cold when we were there, we were told that when the weather is nice guests often sit out on the spatious front porch to read the paper or socialize. If you are looking for something convenient and full of charm, try the Gasche House. Although it is not your typical chain and doesn't even have a website, you will be sure to find it relaxing.

Room Tip: Ask for the back room, if it is available.
