Owner description: Come spend an afternoon at the Oklahoma Railway Museum. There's something for everyone! Come see freight cars, passenger cars, and even a real steam engine on display. And best of all, you can ride the train! Trains operate first and third Saturdays - April to August. We're just minutes from the Interstate, so come join in the fun at the Oklahoma Railway Museum. Our museum is open every Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 9:00 to 5:00. Admission to the museum is free.

Several of the cars are open for you to board. There is a "barn" filled with railroad memorabilia. Definitely worth your time. The cars with a model trains set up and the "museum" was closed when we were there, because there was only one volunteer when we were there. If you want to see them call ahead and possibly they can make arrangements. They offer a short train trip for a price on certain Saturdays. Call for info and tickets. We were thrilled to see the inside of a caboose and learn its purpose.

Thank you for your review! Glad you had a good time. We are always working on getting more volunteers to be able to give the public the experience they expect and to have all areas like the display car and model train car open. We hope to see you again.

My mother and sisters and I decided to check out this museum on our last get-together in Oklahoma City. It's free to enter, but donations are welcome. The museum is self-guided and doesn't have a lot of explanatory signage, but it's a great train collection, with several places where you can step inside the cars to look around. Two of the cars also have other artifacts in them, including a lot of model trains.

Liked looking around at the 1930s to 1960s trains. Easy to walk areas, things for kids to see and touch.! Did not get to take train ride, but heard it good!

A wonderful collection of trains and train cars over the years with the history that goes along with all of them. Not to be missed if you are a train lover.

It's taken me several trips to OKC to finally ride the train due to its schedule. The volunteers are friendly and informative and love what the do. The museum is not very large but it has some interesting pieces in the collection restored or waiting for restoration including two 1800s era box cars. The only reason I didn't rate this a five is the train ride scheduling (four trips the fist and third weekends of the month during spring/summer.)
